Unabridged Audiobook
It should not be banned for the sake of education
It is important book that should be in all high school and college libraries. It would have benefitted from some tighter editing but that's a minor criticism. It's heartfelt and moving and informative -- a window into the Black Queer experience in US America.
Good story. I really appreciated that the author narrated it. Got it because when people say you shouldn't read a book, I gotta read it! Well written. Conservatives need to suck it up. The book was carefully and thoughtfully written. Yes, there was some descriptions of sex, but it was not gratuitous or salacious; it was more clinical. But it was about HIS life and how events affected HIM. I read way more explicit material in high school - and that book was written in the 1700s! By today's standards, I'd call this PG-13. I see no problem with high school kids reading this book.
Great bio. Gritty, honest and story that needed to be told.
