Unabridged Audiobook
I really enjoyed the book and the narrator. I've read the haters from those at the Anne Frank House, but ask yourself the question: Why did Otto Frank spend so much more time on publicizing his daughter's diary than to who ended up taking her life, Margot and his wife's life ultimately? Won't spoil the book but I agree with the results. To each their own, however.
This book should be required reading in every high school! It's an enlightening examination of not only the Anne Frank story, but also vividly personalizes and illuminates multiple aspects of the what occurred and how.. I read the few criticisms and disappointed comments about the final supposed conjecture conclusions. It is clear to me that this is an amazingly developed scientific method analysis such as never possible or conducted before. The conclusions are strongly supported by logic and evidence....not conjecture. Read this book....you will not regret!. The narration was superb
Amazing how this team was able to sift through that much information after so many years had passed. I don’t think any of us realize just how easily one person can bring about the destruction of so many simply by repeating baseless lies and conspiracy theories that their followers blindly accept.
Very interesting but I had difficulty keeping up with some of the principals because of the foreign (to me) names and some of the foreign (to me) terms. A down load of names and simple descriptions of their roles would have been a handy reference. I realized early on that this was not necessarily going to have a definitive end but it did give me a deeper perspective of the times and situations. It also prompted me to do some searches for recorded interviews of some of the survivors of that time and of her father, Otto, after he returned home, his life thereafter, etc.. There's also documentaries available showing the actual attic and, the concentration camps. I can't help but wonder, "How would I have handled it all if were me?"
I am very interested and moved by the story of Anne Frank, her betrayal and The Holocost. I have read previous books, articles, watched TV and cinema. I looked forward to this read. I found the book uninformative and more speculation and conjecture than real fact. I decided to plow through the book, there was no pay-off at the end. Moreover I then did internet search of her conjecture of who the betrayer was (I won't spoil it if you listen). Experts, archives, Jewish Holocost organizations discount her suspect. The Holocost Exhibit is currently in our city, moved me to tears. See it if you can.
