Unabridged Audiobook
Anyone who gives this a one star is biased and can't recognize learning from new perspectives.
Owens is in full blame mode the entire book. Her clear and primary goal is to appease folks that already believe what she is saying, and they just need a black friend to say it with them. She goes in to no detail regarding how conservatives are making things better, what they (or her) can offer in terms of goals, strategies, or even positive advice. Try harder. Get a father. That's all the advice she has to offer. At the beginning of the book, Owens declares that we need respect and manners, to stop being victims, and have faith. That's what her Grandpa taught her. At the end of the book, she declares that we need Trump, because he doesn't respect anyone and that's what we need. Nevermind his own struggles with victim mentality and obvious lack of faith. Owens is articulate and educated, which leads me to wonder, why did she write this book? I have to admit that 3/4 of the way through, I decided to finish because maybe she was saving her advice or at least give us a glimpse into what her and other conservatives are doing to help. Rest assured, she offers nothing of substance, a literal talking head. This book is composed of her using a statistic she found, then directly attacking the liberals, or lying outright and claiming that the modern Dems are the very same slave owners and kkk of the past. What I did learn from this book is that she is not willing to offer actual, useful information or support for improving this country for anyone. Attack without evidence, shut down the conversation, profit. I guess.
The scary thing about this book is people will actually believe the book is true. Candace Owens has little to no credibility as an author.
Chapters including LBJ and the "myth" about the Great Society. Our erosion into "universal humanistic values" and falling away from traditional black religious values, to the influence of song lyrics in Black culture, all blend to present an insightful ridicule of liberal thought. Candice Owens speaks clearly and defiantly about the hypocrisy within the Democratic party. Owens is a better writer than narrator, however. Some words mispronounced. Excusable. The message is way more important.
Great book! Not at all what a expected.
I loved this book. It's daring and it's eye opening. I don't necessarily agree with 100% of the content (when it comes to the ancient history part) but I still enjoyed and learned a lot listening to this audiobook. Candace Owen is amazing!
Amazing book.
Book is amazing. Brought me to tears in many places. I pray more Blacks find the light Candace is shining for them.
Candace Owens explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. It educated me on what Black America needs. Highly recommend it.
My brother told me this was a 'have to read' book. I just finished it and MS owen came across as the most sane and rational person (black, white, democrat, republican) I have ever listened to. She explained everything without bias and prejudice for either race relating to the current political environment. She made things understandable and I loved her frequent comment 'my only goal is for the truth to be told'. I give it 10 stars
Very insightful and absolutely spot on regarding current issues facing Black America and our future as a nation. The past may define the present but Owens contends that we define our future. Very well narrated also and a great read
LOVE this book!! Everyone should read it.
Excellent!
Great book.
Excellent book
Great book with great perspective! Candice is bold and honest. I appreciate this work of literature. It should be required reading for all Americans, especially for all high school/college students!! Keep up the good work, Candace!!
Wow, fantastic. I have plans to buy a hard copy, because I want to find the quotes and references. Great book!
Excellent book by Candace Owens. She offers numerous logical perspectives from a highly intelligent and well educated black woman. The left will undoubtedly find reasons to complain about her book. Run Candace run for public office.
This book is life changing. Inspirational, A movement, truly a gift to anyone who reads it. it gives you answers. It gives a solution. She should be president someday.
This was a wonderful book!! I highly recommend it. The narration was perfection. I couldn’t put it down!!
Candace Owens offers a unique and legitimate perspective on how the Democrat party has been attempting to control the black community for years. Super interesting read! Loved it!
Candace for President!! What an eye opener and thank you for your knowledge!! As a minority woman from the “ghetto” a mom at 14 who is now living the American dream! Thank you!!
Great book. Aside from pronounced words she was excellent in reading the material.
Great facts backed by data
Great book, only the woke wouldn't like it, she speaks solid facts and backs it up
I wish she would have narrated this book more naturally and conversationally. She was very articulate, but it was a hair too slow for me, and felt very robotic and Siri-like. She's a great speaker, so I was surprised her narration left something to be desired.
