Unabridged Audiobook
Michael Beck brings these stories to life with his wonderful narration. No matter the plot, he draws the listener in and never drags them along. Can never imagine a new Grisham without his Southern sound.
I enjoyed listening to this book
Loved this one. The only complaint I have is that it was too short. The narrator was fabulous and brought the southern gentleman sound to life. I could picture each character in my mind. I’m ready for the next “ Camino Island “ adventure with Bruce and the gang.
Interesting story...just not nail biting.
The book was very good but not quite as good as his earlier works. The narrator was very good. It was a good listen but not a thriller.
Narrator was great but story was not as interesting as Grisham's usualbwork
It was a good book. I agree with others of being a little slow and predictable but I was not disappointed I read it. I liked getting to know the people in the story.
First. I love John Grisham’s writing. I’ve read a lot of his books and enjoy them. I enjoyed this. But. It was predictable. Follows the same sequencing and style as many of his others. I was overall disappointed but still not upset I spent the 8 hrs listening. If that makes sense. As for the narrator. Michael Beck is superb. I love his style, pace and characterizations. He’s excellent.
The book was ok. I wouldn’t recommend it. Very slow moving and if I had to some it up in one word: boring. I was really hoping for more.
The post story was much better then listening about the crowd on Camino. The book started to roll as it started to end. Michael Beck tried, but chapters 1-15 were sleepers.
good book, did not like the narrator!
The narration and main character carried the book.
Unimaginable. Never couldbelueve that the witer of The Client, The Rainmaker, A Time to Kill, The Firm, The Pelican Brief, Runaway Jury, and so many others wrote this. A look into nursing home brutality and or drug price fixing is a worthy theme. To butcher it with a half bait story and a not so likable cast is simpl. Uimaginable.
Seriously boring book with no suspense and the ending clearly spelled out a third of the way into the book. Good narrator. Grisham phoned this one in.
Very little suspense. I felt like I was listening to a documentary.
The health care fraud plot line is so weak it really detracts from the book; Grisham is at his best during the storm and its aftermath, but really bogs down in the medical plot twists. I just wanted to get back to the book store with a glass of wine, back to the lovely cottage with the fetching love interest, and so on.
Thank you! Very good book and great narration
Great book always fun to read or listen books by this author
Thoroughly enjoyed the book especially with Michael Beck's narration!
A portion of the plot was a copy of a episode of law and order SVU. Very disappointing.
