The Conquest of Bread

The philosophy is so flawed I dont have enough room to debate it. And there sure are A LOT of anti capitalism books on here along with pro Islamic studies. This smacks of agenda which one would suspect in pro communist circles.

I think the first thing to point out is that this version of The Conquest of Bread is narrated by a fellow with a thick european accent, a distractingly thick accent. Now for those of us who helplessly romanticize every poor decision we have ever made we can pretend we are sitting outside a cafe listening to a recently made friend whisper political philosophy into our ears while we look out onto a Parisian cobblestone street, but for the sake of the review I must be stark, I must be honest. The quality of the recording is quite poor. There is a soft hum, a white noise, and at some points in the recording I swear I could hear what sounded like dogs or people passing by in the background. The editing of the recording was not up to par as it wasn't always easy to hear when one sentence ended and another began. I'm still not entirely sure if this was due in part to the accent or the actual clipping of the recordings. I'd recommend this book to be rerecorded by whatever institution that can be held accountable, but for now, something is better than nothing. Now the book will not receive as much negative attention. In the interest of full disclosure, I'm going to mention that I am considerably left-leaning, that said, I felt the arguments to be cohesive and well thought out to the point it was a matter of math. I think for anyone identifying with the radicals or the left absolutely must read Kropotkin in order to fully develop their own personal philosophies. I would more than recommend The Conquest of Bread or Mutual Aid to those who are just starting to explore political philosophies, that is of course, if they're properly narrated.
