Summary
The first Virgil Flowers novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author John Sandford.

Virgil's been doing the hard stuff for three years, but he’s never seen anything like this. In the small rural town of Bluestem, an old man is bound in his basement, doused with gasoline and set on fire. Three weeks before, a doctor and his wife were murdered. Three homicides in Bluestem in just as many weeks is unheard of. It’s also no coincidence. And it’s far from over.

I've read or listen to all the Davenport/Flowers books since I discovered them years ago. Not one story has disappointed me. If anyone else narrated these books, I'd be disappointed. He's got the characters down perfectly.

The narrator was so hum-drum I would catch myself thinking about other things.

Have the entire Virgil Flowers series besides the entire Prey series. Can’t wait for a new episode of each. Been a while since I’ve listened to any of the books so I’m starting the series over to see if I can pick up anything I missed during the first listen.

Couldn't get used to the simplicity of the book, or the narration, even though the premise at the beginning sounded intriguing. Sent back w/o finishing.

My first John Sanford book, and I really enjoyed it. Great characters and entertaining story-line, coupled with a very compelling reading.
