Summary
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Inferno—now a major film directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones—comes a lightning-fast thriller about an astonishing NASA discovery that uncovers a vicious conspiracy leading all the way to the White House.

When a new NASA satellite spots evidence of an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory...a victory that has profound implications for US space policy and the impending presidential election. With the Oval Office in the balance, the President dispatches White House Intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton to the Milne Ice Shelf to verify the authenticity of the find. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic academic Michael Tolland, Rachel uncovers the unthinkable: evidence of scientific trickery—a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy.

But before Rachel can contact the President, she and Michael are attacked by a deadly team of assassins controlled by a mysterious power broker who will stop at nothing to hide the truth. Fleeing for their lives in an environment as desolate as it is lethal, their only hope for survival is to find out who is behind this masterful ploy. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all.

In his most thrilling novel to date, bestselling author Dan Brown transports readers from the ultrasecret National Reconnaissance Office to the towering ice shelves of the Arctic Circle, and back again to the hallways of power inside the West Wing. Heralded for masterfully intermingling science, history, and politics in his critically acclaimed thriller Angels & Demons, Brown has crafted another novel in which nothing is as it seems—and behind every corner is a stunning surprise. Deception Point is pulse-pounding fiction at its best.

I have had to stop the book in the first 30 minutes because the narrators salivating is absolutely out of control. I have never once heard a narrator so awful and skin crawling in my life. He would be fine if someone had done their job in sound isolation but this is absolutely unbearable

If you’re wearing headphones while listening to this book be forewarned that Richard Poe makes a lot of wet mouth noises while reading. It’s like he’s literally drooling over this book.

Super book!! Listened to it on our 2000 mile drive across the US. Kept us alert (but not distracted) on the road because it was so interesting!

Good read, interesting facts intertwined. A bit slow in the beginning but worth the wait for an exciting ending. Character development is lacking. Extremely detailed descriptions. Overall would recommend.

The plot concept is good. But the book could have accomplished it's purpose better in 2/3rds the time -- minus some of the geological details and plot twists. The reader was expressive. But I didn't fashion hearing him constantly swallowing in my ear.

Not my fav DB novel. Too much shooting action bs that I hate in movies and certainly in books. Too many implausible scenarios. The thing I enjoy about DB is facts and locations, even art woven into the repetitive story line (makes it with the repeated basics ). This one was amatuerish ...and like he was struggling to bring it to a conclusion. The last chapter esp. Sorry Dan. Just being honest.

Story was incredible. Kept me listening the whole time. Narrator was ok but there were silences in many areas of the audio.

This was a great book, intriguing story line with many plot twists! The narrator was ok but there were strange long pauses between chapters and the narrator made weird noises with his mouth that distracted from the book. I wished the same narrator that had done Dan Brown's other books would have also done this one.

Another of Dan Brown's compelling tales! Never stale or on the boring end.

Another good one from Mr. Brown. One just never know what's truth or what's fiction in his story. Mr. Poe is that Nassau or NASA...I still love that voice of your's and this narration.

This was the first Novel that I listened to on Audio, and I was spoiled. The story was excellent, great twists great fiction. Outstanding & likeable (or purposely unlikeable characters). I was hoping for a more interesting relationship between the main character & his association with his parents, but it was fleeting & kind of unnecessary. If you like the genre this stands out, I would go out to the car during my lunch break just to hear more.
