Abridged Audiobook
My issues began early with this book. My download had the CD's out of order. It turned out #1 was #2 and #3 was #1 and #2 was # 3. 4 and 5 were okay. The actual story was tepid, but I aways enjoy listening to Joe Montagna, so it wasn't a total losss.
This book violates the basic deal between mystery writer and reader - that the facts that you learn during the story will give you what you need to solve the mystery. Perhaps due to the abridgment, the ending is filled with facts that were never mentioned in the book, and were critical to the solution. Very disappointing. However, the narrator was riveting, so it was interesting until the denouement. So while it enjoyably killed a couple hours of drive time, don't expect a satisfying ending.
poorly read. an average story. Don't waste your time.
Second in a row of the Paul Madriani series that has me wanting to shoot an "abridger". This is to short, to jumpy, and I needed the usual Martini detail. As usual, loved the plot and characters, just got hung up with the TERRIBLE cut off by abridgment. What do we have to do to get them to read the "whole thing" on these books?
I must have enjoyed this book since I finished listening to it but found it to be not one of Martini's best.
Double tap or double trouble. It was not one of Steve's best. A lot of violence and not as much story line as in others.
