Summary
In this compact disc edition of the totally revised underground bestseller -- The E-Myth, Michael Gerber dispels the myths surrounding starting your own business and shows how commonplace assumptions can get in the way of running a business. He walks you through the steps in the life of a business -- from entrepreneurial infancy, through adolescent growing pains, to the mature entrepreneurial perspective, the guiding light of all businesses that succeed -- and shows how to apply the lessons of franchising to any business, whether or not it is a franchise. Finally, Gerber draws the vital, often overlooked distinction between working on your business and working in your business. After you have listened to The E-Myth Revisited, you will truly be able to grow your business in a predictable and productive way.

The reading brings the book to like! While the topic focuses on small businesses, the philosophy can be applied to multiple modalities of work. Very enjoyable!!!

Excellently written and produced book that lays out a roadmap - not only for, and about business, but life in general. The message is packaged in a slightly long-winded manner, but it tells an entertaining story, it’s not just a dry, point by point book. An entrepreneurial classic!

This book is more of a story tell book rather than a tactical book. Very long winded to get to a simple point. Eg. You must have SOP in a business > very simple point. He talks about this and tells a story about Sarah for One Chapter!

It took me a few chapters to get into but what a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. As a business owner of almost 20 yrs this book could have saved me a lot of headaches and lost time. He covers so much you have to listen to it multiple times.

Books read by the author are great. The author knows the message they are wanting to convey and nearly always have a fantastic delivery of the subject material. Michael Gerber is no exception. The book is excellent and Michael is phenomenal as well.

Heard about this book on the audiobooks.com podcast, I am not a business owner and it took me a while to get into it but after two hours or so of listening, I started to enjoy it. Definitely a must-listen for anyone interested in creating exceptional experiences for their customers and for themselves as a business owner.

Great, Great book!!!!!! I don't have my own business or even know what I want it to be someday, but I am young and love to dream about starting my own business. This book has changed the way I dream about my business and has provided a great frame work/context to use as I plan. I will read this book over and over again. Everyone who is in business should read this book, I have a decent amount of autonomy in my job ( which is in a new field) and I have started using these principles. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this book.

I heard about this book from the 4 hour work week and I am glad that I decided to listen to it. It tells a great story about Sara who owns a bakery and how she loses herself in her business because she takes on the technical person of the business instead of the entrepreneur and manager of the business. She loses the spirit that she loved for baking pies and Michael Gerber helps her find her entrepreneurial spirit again.

I enjoyed this book tremendously. There were sections, however, that I thought were just self-indulgence on the author's part, but I understand why the book is recommended so highly. The ideas are presented clearly and thoroughly.

Superb information for any small business owner. Wish I had read it a few years ago when I first started my small business. I intend to get the rest of the books by this author.

although I got a bit annoyed at the long lists patiently outlined by the reader/author, this book gave me some great ideas to ponder. if you have a decent drive (30 min minimum) so you can hear the stories without interuption this is worth listening to. i just found that the long long long long lists of examples tedious while driving - if i were reading, I would have skipped! AND, I am now working on an Org chart for my very small company!

This book dispells the myth of the firebrand entrepreneur, and focuses on exactly what it takes to make a business work. My own business was was already in transition from adolescence to mature, and this helped illuminate a lot fo the paths I should focus on. Two thumbs up!

I read the book and the audio was a great reinforcement of the principles behind it. if you have your own small business or are starting one, this is one of the must reads. I've recommended this book to at least 25 people, it is that important of a read. The abridged audio is a great summary.

I am just laying the foundation for a start-up internet-based business, and this book has helped TREMENDOUSLY. The concept that your business is NOT a place to go to work, but is, in itself, a product is a paradigm shift for me. The identifying of our three business personalities: technician, manager, and entrepreneur; and what happens when those personalities are out of balance is fantastically useful. The illustrations and examples, even the reading, are attention grabbing for anyone interested in this topic. I recommend it to everyone except my future competitors.
