Unabridged Audiobook
I followed the space race from our first rockets through all the moon flights, so this book brought back many good memories of our country's efforts to explore space and other planets, and the courage of our astronauts. Krantz's story, from his point of view within mission control for all the manned flights, put me in the driver's seat of the difficult situations and decisions that the public never heard. I wish he spent a little more time describing the specific missions of each flight, especially on the moon. This book isn't for everyone, but it does describe a great national technical achievement that inspired a generation.
Excellent, story of the race to space from the inside.
A wonderful insight into the early years of NASA
Excellent view from inside mission control at a very human level.
