Indeed a classic book but certainly not one of his best. The storyline was rather rambling and told the story of a very clever scientist that has invented a new device to harness the power of gravity. All is well but he chooses a companion that is a halfwit and should certainly not be allowed anywhere near a spaceship. The plan falls apart very quickly but the storyline is very slow. Had to force myself to the end, not good. The narrator was excellent and certainly earned his crust telling this one.

A classic book, but challenging for the 21st century reader in some respects. Attitudes to women, children and, particularly those people seen as inferior (educationally, socially, etc) are hard to hear with modern sensibilities
