Unabridged Audiobook
My favorite book of the year! I didn't want it to end.
It was interesting and well written. I found a few minor points to be unlikely for the time frame of the story, but I would recommend the book. Narrator was good. I suggest you look up the real Martha Ballard after you read the book.
What a wonderfully written book. I didn’t want it to end. The characters were all perfect, great plot.
Now on my "favorite's" list! Wonderful book & great narrator! A must read❤️
Good book, ok narrator
Wonderful! As a Nurse Midwife, I appreciate and admire Martha Ballard.
Outstanding. Beautiful writing, powerful characters and compelling story.
My first book by this author and loved it. The narration was fantastic! I so appreciate when an author shares the background and the thought process at the end of the work. I became an instant fan of Ariel Lawson!
A bit slow and long but great listen and wonderful narrator. Good story
I loved this book and the author’s commentary at the end was fantastic. Don’t miss that!
Great writing and narration. Well developed characters, a touch of magic with a fox, a crime that keeps you guessing, a truly evil villain, and a brave midwife who doesn't suffer fools. The character of the midwife, Martha Ballard, is a real person who, during her career, delivered 1000. Babies. Highly recommended.
I enjoyed the book.
Excellently read! The story was engaging! Enjoyed the depth of the characters.
Great storytelling
Loved this book even though there was more reference to childbirth than I would’ve chosen. Brilliantly written with a great story with enough suspense that I needed to get to the end
This is an excellent story, but the narration is just average.
Great Book!
It was absolutely fabulous. I grew up in the Little House books and this felt like a perfect fit for adult me!
