Relevant, illuminating, and an engrossing story. As a military person, I can authoritatively say that the book is frighteningly plausible. I only wish that ending of the next Great War is as predictable as the one portrayed in the book.
great story line. author goes a little more detail than necessary but a fun listen.
Interesting take on what could happen. Author went into great detail of battle scenes.
Keeper me spell bound. To a great effort to put it down. Well writen.
This was recommended to me from some of my military superiors. While not necessarily disappointing, it had a lot of hype to live up to and it let me down slightly. That being said this is a really good book, mostly due to the thought provoking plot.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Told from a perspective where Americans had to resort to hand-to-hand battle to win back the country. Very interesting
good story, but the narrator's voice was either too low or high at times yelling.
This is male-niche literature. I found it extremely boring despite my usual love of these types of books
Excellent excellent story excellent narration
The book had an interesting storyline in the fact that it outlined current and mothballed weapon and surveillance technology. Some of the weapons that were described are absolutely mind-blowing!
The narrator, Rich Orlow, was definitely one of the worst I have listened to ever since I started listening to Audiobooks. I enjoy listening to narrators that change their accents and gender tones to fit the various characters in the novel. This guy sounded the same whether he was reading as a male or female and also different nationalities that were in the book from Chinese to English, etc. Everyone sounded the same! he was so bad that I will not purchase another book that has him as a narrator. If I wanted someone to just read to me in their regular voice I would have my kids do it!
It’s was good at times and keep my interest, the ending could have been a bit more climatic, liked the narrator. Overall it was a decent read. Didn’t love it but was far from hating it, could definitely see this as a movie one day
This book was a lot of fun. Should come with a warning though. Busting out laughing while driving 70 MPH on the highway could be dangerous. I listen to audiobooks during my commute. I truest did not want this to end. Hoping for a Space Fleet II.
I found this electrifying!
The narration of this novel was excellent. There was sufficient character differentiation to follow who was speaking and gain some understanding of the hierarchy of the characters.
The story itself didn’t fall into the realm of enjoyable fiction. The story line was frequently broken by an abrupt switch in scene and location. As the reader, I never developed much interest in any of the characters and the story, such as it was, seemed an interminable jumble of events that were not well joined together in a cohesive plot. I was happy with the ending and I was glad when the book was finished.
This was NOT a book to be listened to as an audiobook. It would have a lot to appeal to military and technology buffs in the written (page and paper) form. My understanding is that the text of this book is well referenced and footnoted which offer materials for further information. In fact, the story might be easier to follow if the reader could turn back to refer to a previous scene in attempting to move forward with the story. It’s pretty hard to follow in audio form.
Found myself cheering as the action unfolds. Loved the advanced tech. As an electronic's. tech I know how close most of this technology is.
Was not sure what ti expect ! I found it to be a great read! The attention to detail showed the author had conducted a great deal of research. A chilling reminder that the world is not a very stable place and anything is possible with the type of sinister warfare that could be unleashed if so desired.
Very busy, from the first shot to the last.
Pretty good! Has a lot of modern facets to it. But then again some of the futuristic technology is really far fetched. Highly recommended to those in the cyber warfare community.
This is really a great read. Interesting story line and very intelligently written
This book just made me mad it was written so poorly. I couldn't finish it. The idea is outlandish and I didn't care about any of the characters. Depressing.
