Unabridged Audiobook
The other two series in this world, the Good Guys and the Bad Guys, are lots of fun. This too seems like fun, but… The main characters all have the same quirk. They are all stumbling ramblers who can’t seem to string a concise thought together when engaged in any sort of uncomfortable conversation. It is the exact same trope, and it’s ridiculous. There needs to be more distinction between the protagonists of each series. Ugland clearly has a formula and he is determined to follow the same script. It is trite and redundant. I want to enjoy this series, I really do, but I don’t know if I can listen to another of the same story with a few different names. Montana’s story, the Good Guys, is so damn fun. But the quirkiness fits his character. Greg Grim is supposed to be brilliant and maybe a touch arrogant. So why is he constantly stumbling over his words? Why does he have difficulty speaking to women and authority figures the way Montana does? I had hoped for better from Ugland.
Loved it. Definitely with your time.
