Summary
Sam Parker is a vampire with a gift so strong and substantial that she is invited to partake in a test for a place in the Grand High Master Vampire's private army. She finds that not only has the army never included a woman, but it has never included a Svente vampire; a breed that is regarded by the super strong Pagori breed and the hypnotically beautiful Keja breed to be too tame and human-like. Most refuse to take her seriously, especially a Pagori commander named Jared who she craves in spite of herself. The Grand High Master, however, sees her potential and offers her the position of Jared's co-commander to help train the newest squad in time for the impending attack on his home. Sam has to demonstrate to Jared and the squad of chauvinists why it is incredibly foolish to underestimate a wilful, temperamental, borderline-homicidal Svente female.

So. IMO. This book had a lot going on considering we're not done with these two characters. There was just too much. It's like every idea the author had about vampires being sexist plus the kitchen sink was all tossed in at once. Don't get me wrong, they were all good ideas. I liked them individually but when you threw them all together to make one book it just got a little boring. I loved the concept of the different types of vampires and them having different gifts. Sounds very Twilight-ish. I like the fact that there was a strong female lead and that the book was an enemies to lovers situation. There were other parts of the book that also, so me felt kind of Twilight-ish but that's just me. The heat factor is at about a 3 since there was no real action until about halfway through. The author could have done so much more with the sire, and the love triangle but didn't. The backstory of Sam's previous love felt like a filler and not necessary. However, the book had some really good moments and I loved the banter between characters. It had a dark and comedic undertone to it.

The book started off well, but the author tries to make such a complicated world and leaves too many loose ends. Honestly, this book should have turned into a trilogy or simplified. The ending is plainly disappointing. The female MC starts off strong and independent and ends up being wrapped around the male MC's finger. ugh.

Was iffy at first, but quickly became a good read that is quick. Will continue the series.

Suzanne Wright likes to write strong female heroines. This book is no different. I have never read vamps with the "abilities" some of these guys have. There were multiple LOL moments! I really enjoyed this book and plan to continue the series.

Loved it. This book is super funny the female character is super strong and does not take any sh*t from her love interest. A very fun heart warming, sexy read.

I loved this book from beginning to end. The story lines flowed wonderfully and the voices for the main characters were great. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK.
