Summary
The New York Times bestselling author of the beloved Summerhouse and James River series brings her signature “enchanting and exquisite” (BookPage) writing to this charming and tender yuletide tale of love and passion.

When Hollander Latham’s parents purchase Spring Hill—a beautiful North Carolina plantation—she’s thrilled that she can finally return to the gorgeous estate where she spent a memorable thirteenth summer. Now a successful architect, she fantasizes about reuniting with Spring Hill’s neighbor, the wealthy heir Laurence Beaumont, whom she fell in love with during that long-ago summer.

But as Christmas fast approaches, her plans for a romantic reconnection turn upside down with the arrival of Nick Taggert, a mysterious stranger who makes her laugh and tempts her with a surprising passion. One man can seduce her with fortune and privilege; the other can promise her the simple gift of love. And on a frost-covered Christmas night, Holly’s choice will unmask astonishing truths and hidden dangers that will forever change her charmed life and her vulnerable heart.

I thought this was a terrible book. I don't think I'll be bothering to finish it.

I’ve read several Jude Deveraux books which I liked (A Knight in Shining Armor, the Velvet series, etc.) and was horribly disappointed in this one. Romance is not just about sex, and when the protagonists had sex before even knowing each other’s names . . . well, I packed this book up and sent it back. It was just not worth my time.

Book was good, it kept me into it. Never really hit a boring spot which is huge for me. I'd read it again.

I enjoyed this book, it was easy to listen to. I like the little twist I was not expecting.

This was like hearing a girls night out, too much to drink, fantasy. It was unrealistic and filled with gratuitous sex. Let me paint the picture for you...girl falls into a pit, girl takes off her clothes to increase her chances of an escape from the pit, girl is found by boy, moments later girl and boy have sex in a car, boy and girl then introduce themselves.

Its a great book for the commute! The characters are great, but the story (as in most romances) are predictable. The sex scenes are a bit steamy, and the characters tension is so typical of a romance novel, but as I said.. its great to escape! I accidentally rented it twice, and loved listening to it the 2nd time around.

This was another one of Jude Deveraux's great ones! She is an excellent author and comes up with the best stories. A little too much "dirty sex", but the story was absolutely beautiful! I can't wait for her next novel to come out!

Easy listening, romantic, suspenseful, well read, and the main characters are, well, cast by Hollywood. My first book by this writer. Will look for others.

I loved this book, I have already recommended it to several friends. It is a little on the erotic side, which I am not used to but it also has a great soap opera type story line that keeps you interested and a catchy murder mystery plot line as well. It's not too long either. The reader did a good job, very easy to listen to.

This was a great book. Anyone looking for a light-hearted romantic listen is in for a treat. You will love the characters and love to hate the villians.

I absolutely loved this book. It was a truly fun book and was lighthearted enough to keep my interest. Jude Deveraux is such a complex author it always surprises me with how versatile her writing prowess can be. She is able to write period novels as well as contemporary novels and still maintain her appeal. Very enjoyable!

Fun and light, good enough for commute doldrums, but not up to Jude's earlier work. I wouldn't sit in the car or bring it into the house to finish it early.

This book was very good with a bit of mystery and surprise.

So far, Jude needs to impress me. In earlier years I truly enjoyed her books. But of late, books like "Holly" have really disappointed me. Her talent as a writer is so much greater than what this book suggests. It's worth the read "only" if you have nothing else to do.

If I could give this book 6 stars-- I would! I purchased this book a few months ago. I've passed it to my friends and they are still fighting over who will get to listen to it for a second time. If you like romance books, don't pass this one by. Best love scenes yet! Two words.....shower scene! The story is amazing too! I'd rank this book in my top three favorites.
