Unabridged Audiobook
Historically, it is a very interesting book, but Mr. Stanley descriptions of his travels are much to detailed. And, without a good map to follow, difficult to follow. James Adams does an excellent job of narration, though he has a British accent and Stanley is an American. Regardless, he does a good job with the names of places, people, tribes, plants, etc. that I would find very difficult to pronounce. Note that this book does have a very long prolog regarding Dr. Livingstone that is not included with the sound recording. I tracked down a pdf version and found reading this very useful to help understand more context. This prologue, also written by Stanley, was very detailed and could have been condensed, but was very helpful to me as I did not know that much about Dr. Stanley. In summary, a well narrated tale, written in the detailed style of the 19th century that would be enjoyed by students of history, geography and travel
