Not so very long ago, Eragon—Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider—was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.

Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.

The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?

This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

Stellar book! So happy to see the series last book. Paolini is a skilled author with such great creativity and character depth. He goes a little too deep into plot and character development at some parts of the book, but I like it overall. Well done!

Read the first book years ago when I was in high school, 2009. Read the second and third book when I was deployed in 2013. And now I finished the 4th book after listening to the first 3 on this platform in 2024 while working (welder). Thanks for the trip. Dunno if Chris reads these, but I love the series and hope you put more out on this core group. I just finished the form, witch and wyrm book and I’m about to start murtagh’s in a few minutes. As for my opinion, loved the story and characters. I really appreciate wrapping up almost every one’s story. Hope in a future 5th book Arya and Eragon get married or some union and have a dragon rider child. As for the galbatorix final fight, I think it was expected to be some form of Macguffin since Eragon really wasn’t ready to take him on at all. That dragon magic always comes in clutch!

the total series of these books are very good ! The narrator brings life to the many characters in books. Yup if you’re into Dragons, spells and a wonderful hero read/listen to these books! 5 out of 5!

I just revisited this series for the third time after about five years in preparation for the release of Paolini’s newest story in Alegasia. The series continues to astound me with the depth of characters and world that Paolini created and at such a young age. I will continue to read anything he touches, and Gerard Doyle has such a relaxing voice, and adds such personality to the character’s voices. Love the cycle, love this book, can’t wait to read the newest story

There isnt enough of this book series to ever quinch my thirst for the land of Alagaësia, or its inhabitants! This is by far one of the best book series and most definitely my favorite! I will always want to know what is going on in this book series and I hope to God Christopher Paolini continues these writings one day!

Great story. Sometimes Eragon argues points like a child and it becomes frustrating as a reader/listener. But in the grand scheme it disappears and the whole of the story is well worth it.
