Really good book. Definitely kept my interest. By the end, I was desperate to finish it & see how it ended. I highly recommend.
What a great story! It kept me interested from beginning to end. And I do love stories about my hometown (Los Angeles). The characters were great and interesting and I never guessed who the "bad guy" was until it was revealed in the story. Loved it.
I am a trucker and love audio books- They keep me going- this one I rented from a truck stop before I joined this club. It is so good, memorable, exciting, I just had to give my opinion. GET IT! Unabridged. Great Job Tami Hoang.
This story lost my attention so many times that I lost track of who was who. It seemed interesting at first, but I found my mind wandering every time he went back into the same explanation of how family comes first. There is no need to repeat this concept so many times throughout the book. I got it the first time. Not the best book I've read/heard.
This book was a thrill ride from beginning to end. Loved the characters, the plot and the twists and turns. I could barely stop listening.
Easy read. Enjoyed the writers style. Nice mix of humor and suspense. Not the best book i've ever read but entertaining. A little long.
Enjoyed listening. The ending caught me by surpise. Am looking forward to listening to more of Tamis books.
I am a James Patterson, Jonathan Kellerman fan, and i did not think this book would be close to them, but i tried anyhow. Boy was i suprised, Tami Hoag is so talented. plan on listening to all her books. The book had a slow start but boy did it take off, i found my self sitting in the garage waiting for a stopping point and 30 minutes later went inside. Highly Recommend
Good read. Characters well drawn, and a nice mystery. Saw the ending coming about 2/3 of the way through, but it still played nicely with some surprises. Good writing. Way above average thriller.
In the beginning, I didn't think I was going to like this book, but I all of a sudden wanted to know more about the characters and who had killed the low-life lawyer. None of the characters here are common, familiar ones, and that makes the difference in keeping a high level of interest, at least for me.
THIS BOOK WAS GREAT! I IMMEDIATELY WANTED TO READ ANOTHER BOOK BY HOAG.
Initially I enjoyed the audio book - the suspense was great. Suddenly, near the end, everything was "wrapped up tidy" - a bit too suddenly. The ending could have been extended a bit. Not a bad book for a long car ride.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Tami Hoag novel. Great plot, great character development, great unexpected revelations, and a great surprise ending, even for a genre expert like me!
I was hooked. this was interesting and thrilling. kept me waiting to know the rest of the story.
Overall, I liked this book. Sometimes it got a little far-fetched and I think there were some loose ends and actions done by the main parties that are really explained. Interesting character development.
I guess it was the character development that made the book. It was not just the amount of information provided, it was the fact that she made all of the characters "interesting". She made it easy to hate the bad guys and love the good ones. Likewise, the stupid actions of the prime character that were necessary to create the suspense are made believable with of the biographical history of his youth. If you are a cyclist, it's a must rental. The most enjoyable audiobook I've "read".
This is an excellent thriller with a very good narrator. The story kept me entertained and interested from start to finish. I'm definitely a Tammy Hoag fan now.
Great listen! This was my 1st Tami Hoag story, and I loved it. Scott Brick is an excellent narrator, and the story was suspenseful and fast-paced, with an unexpected ending. I couldn't wait for the next package. I can't imagine the abriged version, too many details would have been missing. Highly recommend this full version, definitely worth the time!
This book had so much potential, but it seemed it was overedited. Not a typical Tami Hoag for me, which normally at least keep me interested and provide some escape with details, etc.
Enjoyed it and do recommend it to mystery listeners
I enjoyed this story, it was very easy for a person like me who suffers from a traumatic brain injury to understand, giggle and laugh at times through out the story.
The only thing I disliked about this was that CDs were broken into so many packets. I hated waiting between some of the mailings. And, at times, because of the length, I wish they would have abridged it more.
Overall, this was a really good story. I never felt like the story hit a lull, it just kep coming and coming. The undercurrent theme of the value of family - even non-traditional families was especially nice. I do agree with another review who was frustrated at Jace's lack of common sense that never really got explained. But other than that, I think the other characters were so strong that it carries that one weakness.
As usual Tami Hoag puts out a good story line. Excellent listen.
The characters in this book are excellently perceived. The narrator is very talented. The book keeps you on the edge of your chair and then shocks you at the end. Very twisted. Recommended to all...!!!
Great job of keeping me listening. Full of suspense. Highly recommended.
I usually love when books are unabridged. I only wished this had been. I have read all Tami Hoag's other books and have enjoyed them. I couldn't stand this one. I think part of the problem was that I couldn't stand the reader. He was just plain annoying. Based on other reviews I kept listening waiting for the twist everyone was talking about. I figured it out if it was such a great twist I shouldn't have been able too. The only reason why I didn't send it back with out finishing it. Was because I didn't want to not have anything to listen too. Sorry but I would not recommend it.
Tami Hoag is a master at suspense, and the twist at the end was good. I didn't see it coming, but it all made sense, and that's essential to a good thriller. However, I just didn't like Jace Damon. I thought his character was forced and too contrived. I felt like screaming at him sometimes for being so dense!
The only thing I did not like about this book was that it was split into 3 parts! Great story, great characters and fabulous reader. I did not mind the traffic and actually looked forward to getting back into the car! A great listen! Enjoy-
People seem to either love this one or hate it. I thought it was great, and the reader was one of the great ones also. He was perfect for the story. The plot is compelling, the characters unusual and believable, I'm not good at writing reviews, but when I saw the negative responses I was shocked and just wanted to let people know not everyone felt that way.
I am not certain whether it was the bad writing or the bad reading. Regardless, I found this book to be a disappointment. I mailed it back without even finishing the first set of CDs.
This story gets you hooked from the first 2 minutes and doesn't let go until the surprise twist at the end. Thoroughly enjoyable. I recommend this to any "audio-file" such as myself. You won't be disappointed!
I thought this book would never end! The story was interesting but predictable with lots of sleazy, unlikeable characters. I wanted to try Tami Hoag because I know the books are bestsellers but I was glad when it was over! Sorry Tami!
Very good, suspenseful, bonded with the characters. Reader was easy to listen to and excellent at different voices.
The characters and plot were very predictable and the dialogue unlikely. It was a disapointment.
Excellent Book! Kept me on the edge of my seat. Great twist at the end! Would highly recommend!
For some reason, I just couldn't get into it. I got through the first few discs and stopped listening to it. These are usually my favorite types of fun novels, but this one didn't do it for me.
Excellent story. Eager to get to the end because it was exciting, but didn't want it to end because I liked the story. Entertaining. Good twist.
Made my commute much more enjoyable. Had a little trouble keeping all the characters straight, but that might have been occasional distraction. Never would have guessed the ending. Wow!
Great story. Always a lot of action. The story teller was great. Very easy listening.
Tami Hoag did a great job in this book. Suspenseful with a great twist at the end.
I really enjoyed this book, and the reader was fantastic. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy a fast-paced suspense novel.
Great book, great characters! Hoag is a good story crafter and keeps the listener's attention with the right mix of emotion and action! Highly recommended!
The author watches to much T.V. Little creativity. Little imagination. What grade level is she writing at?
Narrator: Monotone. Could not wait to finish book!
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Well written, great characters and fully believable. Even the ending came as somewhat of a surprise.
THIS MYSTERY IS SUPER. I COULDN'T STOP LISTENING. IT IS EXCITING AND KEEPS YOU WONDERING WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT. IT IS THREE STORIES WOVEN INTO ONE WITH A DYNAMITE ENDING. I WILL LOOK FOWARD TO READING MORE HOAG MYSTERIES.
Wonderful! If you like suspense, you will definitely enjoy this. I was completely shocked when the murderer was revealed! Classic Tami Hoag!
This was a very good whodunit; very fastpaced; never boring. The best part is that it is unabridged. I highly recommend this if you love thrillers.
Great book! Check it out. Solid storyline, lots of descriptive details, and rich characters. Plus, the voice talent is easy on the ears.
