Summary
The Lost World is a 1912 novel by Arthur Conan Doyle concerning an expedition to a plateau (native name is Tepuyes) in South America (Venezuela) where prehistoric animals (dinosaurs and other extinct creatures) still survive. The character of Professor Challenger was introduced in this book. Interestingly, for a seminal work of dinosaur-related fiction, the reptiles only occupy a small portion of the narrative. Much more time is devoted to a war between early human hominids and a vicious tribe of ape-like creatures. (summary by wikipedia)

The Libravox way of using multiple narrators doesn't always work for me. Some are not that good and as soon as you get into it with one of the good ones, chapter's over and on to the next narrator. Affects the pace of the book and almost makes you have to get back "into" the story each time. Great story though!

I have read this for the first time and I loved it, very well written and descriptive. moves on at a lively pace and a real page turner. excellent!! however just a point, I'm not sure why there are different narrators, there are some really good ones but it feels disjointed to flick from one to another ... but if you can tolerate it the book is worth it happy listening x

This was my first libravox recorded book. Using various readers took some getting used to. Each chapter is read by a different individual, both male and female. All are good readers and some more animated than others. The need for string voice distinction is not as critical for this book. The book has good description of the surroundings and the attitude toward various people groups is dated. The story is good, but not great, lacking the fast paced action of contemporary adventures.

great book but very annoying how the narrators kept on changing every chapter

I enjoyed the story, but didn't like that this was read by different narrators, with very different reading styles and audio qualities.

I was actually really impressed by the book, very different than I anticipated. Various readers, who were alright but most of the recordings were unedited so when they stuttered or repeated a line it was all included. This did not please me.

Annoying to have multiple narrators at different volumes along with the frequently repeated Librivox information with each new chapter.

Book was great! Could have done without the drone from pone of the female narrators. She ended every sentence with a drone. Very annoying.

The book was great and I didn’t see a problem with the narrator or sound quality

A wonderful story ruined by just about the worst narration I've ever heard.

Great book! I hated the narration. Why was there several different people narrating?

Sorry but had trouble with the narrator accent so I just couldn't listen to the whole thing
