It’s good, but I still hope that the narrator will be different

If you miss Magnus and his world and need a small fix; these short stories might help fill the void a bit. Each story is told from the perspective of one of the other well-known characters and it’s fun to get to know them better. Surprisingly for me, my favorite story was Amir’s, one of the most minor characters from the Norse trilogy. His story was wonderfully set in muth/fairytale tradition.... I could see it having launched a novel-length adventure. Overall these are terrific because they’re by Rick Riordan but they cannot replace the magic of his longer narratives. And we seriously need to see more of Magnus and Alex’s relationship progress.
