Unabridged Audiobook
As usual, Cork O’Conner gets into the middle of a complicated snarl of mysteries that involves local townspeople, the Native Americans in his region and outsiders. This is a very interesting story which brings danger to Cork and his family. The story ends in a true cliffhanger which can only be solved by getting your hands on the next book in the series by William Kent Krueger, Copper River. Both books are action packed and are enjoyable to listen to. I love the narrator who makes the complicated interactions between characters easy to follow - good vocal differentiation.
This series is wonderful if you like twists and turns. narrator continues to do a wonderful job with the characters. Cliffhanger ending.
I loved this book! It frustrated me that the ending left me hanging, but it got me to hurry on to the next book. I am loving this series! I listen while I'm doing my rather tedious laundry, housework, & cooking. Everything is more interesting with this series.
Such twist and turns…and the plot thickens can’t wait to read the next one!!
As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. I am looking forward to the next book.
Really enjoyed the story but I'm not a fan of the narrator. Too monotony. And pronunciation that seems insensitive to the context.
The hook is set.
William Kent Krueger has an uncanny gift of the unpredictable. Keeps us guessing to the very end. And, in this case, beyond! The ‘tickler’ at the beginning was a special treat. What next for Cork??
Horrible lazy ending and my least favorite of the series BY FAR. Author phoned it in but since I’ve liked everything else of his I’ve read I’ll give him a break. Not every Beatle song was no. 1.
The book ends mid-story. Wasn't finished. no resolution. I'm a big fan of Krueger, but this time he let this reader down.
