The Riordan brothers may have a reputation for being rough-and-tumble, but Patrick has always been the gentle, sweet-natured one. These days, his easygoing manner is being tested by his high-octane career as a navy pilot. But for the Riordan brothers, when the going gets tough ... the tough find the love of a good woman. Except the woman who has caught Patrick's attention is Jack Sheridan's very attractive niece. Angie LeCroix comes to Virgin River to spend Christmas relaxing, away from her well-intentioned but hovering mother. Yet instead of freedom, she gets Jack Sheridan. If her uncle had his way, she'd never go out again. And certainly not with rugged, handsome Patrick Riordan. But Angie has her own idea of the kind of Christmas she wants-and the kind of man! Patrick and Angie thought they wanted to be left alone this Christmas-until they meet each other. Then they want to be left alone together. But the Sheridan and Riordan families have different plans for Patrick and Angie-and for Christmas, Virgin River-style!

Angie LeCroix has come to Virgin River to reevaluate her life after she has survived a horrific car accident. Her mother has become overbearing and wants her to continue with her plans for medical school. Now that she has a second chance on life she doesn't know if that is what she wants to do. So she escapes to the town of Virgin River for some time to herself between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Patrick Riordan is a fighter pilot in the Navy who has just lost his best friend on one of his missions. He is going through a difficult time and doesn't know if staying in the Navy is what he wants to do. So he gets some leave and heads to Virgin River for some time to himself to clear his head. He needs to be near his family so he can politely tell them to keep away. Angie and Patrick realize that they both are at the same crossroads in their life. Even though their lives go in opposite directions they realize that they might be the perfect fit for each other and what each other needs. I love this series!! I really love this series!! I have listened to this whole series on audio book and I love the narrator Terese Plummer. She is one of my favorite narrators. Every book in this series makes me more in love with the town of Virgin River. I really wish this town actually existed because I would want to live there. I loved this story between Angie and Patrick and love how the families all intertwined together. I hope she isn't done with this series because I can't wait for the next one! I give this story 5 stars.

Robyn Carr knows how to write she keeps my interest, I thought with there being so many books I would get tired of listening but I don't! She adds new characters and leaves just enough of the old ones keeping you attention.

I liked the story. It was warm and endearing. Albeit, predictable. (Not a negative). The narration was aces!

“My Kind of Christmas” is set in Virgin River. As with every Robyn Carr/Thérèse Plummer audiobook, I am completely transported and can visualize the setting and see each character so clearly. I love audiobooks by these two! I’m genuinely sad when they come to a close. Robyn creates such realistic characters - ones with flaws and life challenges. Thérèse just brings them to life with vocal changes that never overact. She makes you believe all of these different personalities. You come away with a whole new set of friends. Great read anytime of year, but especially at Christmas!
