The Neon Rain

Loved every moment! The book was terrific and the narrator made it come alive.

Quite good first entry in the series. Will Patton does a superb job of narrating.

I never got to read about a young Dave Robicheaux before! Finding "The Neon Rain" was such a treat. It explained so much of what I knew about Dave. James Lee Burke changes his style depending upon his subject. If he is writing about nature or love-making, he is poetic. I love his use of color. It is sometimes swirling and at other times striking. When he writes about pain or he is sharp and cutting. Will Patton narrates James Lee Burke's perfectly. He changes dialects, slurring appropriately or using a clipped tone. If I had not been hooked on the series already, "The Neon Rain" would have reeled me in.
