Unabridged Audiobook
This is the second book I’ve read or in this case listened to by Chelle!! I actually started this book series on the third book and now going back through them. I loved this book so much! The series is so great and I cannot wait to get to all the other characters I’ve fallen for. That’s why this book and Oliver are my pick for Swoony Sunday! This book was so well written and the plot and storyline was spectacular! Like can I have Oliver please! I mean he is a first grade, dirty mouth, worship her, and give her the love and support that she needs… and shows her home much she means to him by not giving up when she fights so hard to push him away. Poor guy had 30 something proposals and what the heck these women were crazy!!! I was seriously a Swoony puddle on the floor so many times throughout this book. I loved that he was the over sharer and that he was all about communication and telling his friends what he felt and they were all concerned when he suddenly was so secretive. And then how he was like I’ll take anything you’re willing to give me even friendship… I really loved that they started as friends and it evolved naturally he had her back. The rest of my review is in the comments below
Oliver gets his HEA! I am loving the Rolling Hills series. Let’s just say Oliver wants one thing, a wife. Just when it looks like he will never find his forever he meets Izzy at a wedding. A proposal and one night stand turns to friendship turns to waking up in Vegas with rings on. I love the relationship development with these two. I got to listen to the audiobook narrated by Chris Chambers and Stephanie Rose. This duo was everything, they nailed Ollie and Izzy. They did a phenomenal job with all the characters.
My first book in this series, but I enjoyed it sooooo much. Well written, great performance by the narrators. Oliver... a romantic by heart, first grade teacher. Every mother's in law dream... meeting his total opposite at a wedding and falls immediately in love with her. It's so lovely to see how Oliver never gave up on Izzy and so she can become again who she really is. Fantastic lovestory with a beautiful HEA.
OLIVER PRICE IS THE LITERAL CUTEST! I loved this story so much. Oliver and Izzy were teased at the end of the last book and I couldn't wait to see how it would all play out. They couldn't be more opposite in personality and that makes them perfectly matched for each other. I don't know what it says about me but I resonated with Izzy so much. Her trauma and pain are the foundation for the way she lives her life and she has sworn off relationships. But Oliver drunkenly stumbles into her world and knocks it on its axis making her question everything she's ever believed or imagined for herself. While Oliver is the quintessential romantic golden retriever boyfriend who sees their potential and gives her all the space and time she needs to find her way to him. After months of friendship and a drunken Vegas wedding, Oliver uses it as the catalyst to help Izzy see they belong together and as they go through life, they find their way through the ups and downs by relying on each other and only strengthening their love in the process. Their story was so rewarding and made me feel that spark of hope for love ❤️ Stephanie Rose and Chris Chambers were fantastic. I love the continuity in narrators for the series but how they embody these completely different characters so well. It's a testament to their talent and I'm excited for the rest of the series.
I am in LOVE with Oliver Price.!! Phew I had to get that off my chest...book 2 in the Rolling Hill series and it is just as Amazing as the first book..I absolutely LOVED it. As you can see this is Hopelessly romantic Oliver's story...We have learnt in book one that Oliver who is a school teacher,is longing to be married.(We get to understand why in this book). Every woman he dates he asks them to marry him, which never goes well and he gets dumped over and over..He is starting to believe he will never find his bride,he will never get married and his soul mate doesn't exist. But then he meets Izzy/Elizabeth at a wedding and they get drunk together and have a passionate one night stand. The thing is Izzy is the opposite to Oliver she is dead against Marriage and Love she doesn't believe in it.So she is adament to keep her distance from Oliver when he asks to see her again she turns him down. But Oliver won't give in that easy, and his persistence and charms wear her down and they become really good friends..Not what Oliver wanted but its better than nothing...Friends that are attracted to eachother. Until a weekend in Vegas changes EVERYTHING..!! This is an accidental marriage. Opposites attract Reverse Grumpy Sunshine...Izzy is the grumpy one the cynic and Oliver is the sunshine and positive one. I adore Oliver he is funny, sweet and playful he loves life and is unapologetically himself and a beast in the bedroom and a puppy dog the rest of the time.I felt really bad for him because he wanted Izzy so much and Izzy would not give in even though she loved him she refused to love him romantically..But sexually she would often give in...Because intimately they were very spicy. Izzy had been hurt in the past she has a mysterious past and this was what made her cynical about love..But Izzy is a tough nut to crack and so she keeps her secret close to her chest. I did love their connection and the friendship they had apart from Izzy's secret past they were otherwise open and honest with one another.Even to the point were Izzy knows Oliver Loves her and Oliver knows Izzy doesn't want him romantically. This book is just a swoon fest and funny and witty too,I enjoyed listening to it so much Chris Chambers and Stephanie Rose are brilliant portraying these characters. They have all the right emotions for the scene, whether its joy or tears you can hear it in their voices. They really brought Izzy and Oliver to life in the perfect way possible,it was a delight listening to them. I am loving Chelle Sloan's writing and the stories she is giving to these characters I am excited for more. This is an extraordinary romantic emotional book and I loved it. 5 Stars.
Rolling Hills is one of my favorite small town series so I was ecstatic when I saw it was coming to audio. The audio was even better than the already amazing book. Chris Chambers and Stephanie Rose were outstanding as Oliver & Izzy. Their narration was perfect to Oliver and Izzie's personalities and emotions. They made a dynamic duo for The One I Need. Oliver was such a lover boy and Chris Chambers really brought that out through his narration. How can you not love this sweet man with a dirty mouth? Izzie may have been his opposite in every way but she was perfect for him, and the one he was always meant to be with. When she opened her eyes to what a great man she had by her side, and really gave them a fighting chance I swooned so hard you would've thought I was there with them in that scene. I can't even properly put into words how fantastic this audiobook was. I felt like I was getting Oliver and Izzie's story for the first time and I have read the book twice. It was that good!
This is book 2 in the Rolling Hills Series and will follow 4 friends from Rolling Hills and their love interests. Each story is an interconnect standalone that can be read in any order. I do suggest starting from the beginning as there is some pertinent information that could be helpful as you read. You will see the couples and characters from previous books and that could spoil their adventures. This is Oliver Price and Izzy McCall's love story. I listened to this book on audio. The narrators are Chris Chambers and Stephanie Rose. Chris does and incredible job with Ollie and makes him the sweet and wooly character we have come to love. Stephanie puts so much emotion into her characters and she does this beautifully with Izzy. The emotion and heartbreak that goes into this book is incredible and Stephanie outshines in this performance. The tension between Ollie and Izzy was felt through the story and these two voice actors really bring out the beauty of this book. If you love audio, this series is not to be missed. Oh Chelle.....I just fell in love with the sweet and very lovable OLLIE....34 proposals and zero yes's. Then Izzy came along and change how Ollie looked at love. Ollie realized that those other proposals were nothing compared to what he feels for Izzy. He fell hard and wanted her in any way he could get her. But poor Izzy who doesn't believe in love or relationships so she places Ollie in the friend zone. The development of their relationship was so beautiful to read. Then one drunken night things change and they both have to decide what they are going to do.....Can they they stay friends or will love win out? The Rolling Hills series has me so invested in these four friends. I cannot wait to read the last 2 and see what happens with Shane and Simon.
The One I Need Rolling Hills, Book 2 By: Chelle Sloan Narrated by: Stephanie Rose, Chris Chambers I love Oliver. Chelle Sloan introduced this romantic in the first book, always falling in love and proposing marriage, only to have his heart broken, I wondered why they all said no. And I am still wondering. Oliver met Izzy at a wedding, and after some dances and drinks, the two find themselves spending the night together. Now most people would be happy with a one night stand, but there was something about Izzy Oliver couldn't stop thinking about. Different from the others he "loved" he finds her and woos her. But this does not take down the walls of her heart. What could convince Izzy to give her heart to this sweet, romantic man? Well....what a story! This one has some meat, with a back story for both that brings tears to your eyes, but for different reasons. Oliver is patient and the best friend Izzy could have. Izzy is smart, but guarded. And what an ending! Bring on the next Rolling Hills story, this friend group is amazing! Stephanie Rose is Izzy, and she does such a good job with her. Confused, determined to not fall in love, smart and caving in, she finds each nuance to Izzy's character and gives her all that staggered emotion. Chris Chambers is Oliver and what a warm and passionate personality he gives him. I loved this collaboration and enjoyed the narration.
The One I Need is small town accidental marriage romance. Izzy and Oliver couldn’t have been more opposite. He loves love and she tries to avoid it at all costs. I loved that Oliver never pushed her and was there for her when she needed him. I had so much fun with Izzy and Oliver and adored both characters! Stephanie Rose and Chris Chambers narrate this book in duet! They were both amazing at bringing the chemistry and emotions to life. I loved both of their performances! I am loving this series and the narration so much with each book!
I devoured this book. Firstly, the narration was EVERYTHING! Chris Chambers & Stephanie Rose were perfect as Oliver & Izzy and their narration really brought them to life. They are such a great pair together. This book was fantastic. The story was beautiful and so realistic. I loved the reverse grumpy/sunshine and I think Oliver is the perfect book boyfriend. I quite enjoyed the real highs and lows that Oliver & Izzy faced and how they communicated to one another. Chelle's writing style is top tier and you get so immersed in the story and I was here for every page. Definitely a book that you want to add to your library to enjoy.
I listened to this book in one afternoon and boy was this book incredible! Izzy is a sassy independent woman with major baggage when it comes to relationships. She in fact has no problem telling anyone that she doesn’t do relationships. Oliver is a hopeless romantic and constantly gets teased for it. He is a first grade teacher and has a tight bond with his friends. The same friends who constantly tease him about his love life. When Oliver meets Izzy his life is turned upside down. These two meet at a wedding and have an amazing night together. Izzy immediately puts poor Oliver in the friend zone…but he goes with it. He cares for her so much that he is willing to be friend zoned. As these two start spending time together they start sharing their stories and who they truly are…her story takes a little longer to come out. Oliver not realizing it, is slowly breaking down her walls…but boy does it take a while. This story was sooo darn good! These two had laugh out loud sassy banter and crazy hot chemistry. Both narrators did an amazing job With this book. The tone in their voices when they were bantering back-and-forth was perfect. The steamy bedroom scenes could not have been any better. I really enjoyed listening to this book. I have read several books in this series and this was by far my favorite one. Between Izzy’s turmoil and Oliver’s love for love this book checked all the boxes. I look forward to seeing what is next for this amazing author.
