Unabridged Audiobook
More political than I thought it would be. (I should have done more investigating) I read books to escape the constant political environment all around me. Even the author’s note at the end of the book was so depressing and negative. I think it’s a privilege to live in US. Yes, we have issues but let’s work together to make the world a better place. And change the adverse rhetoric about how terrible we all are. We can do better.
Book wasn’t quite what I expected, but narrator was great!!
This story was too dragged out. I was expecting more from this author. It certainly didn’t hold my attention. I stopped listening with 3 chapters to go!
Very sad, but so realistic and reminding of what racism can look like. Great story and narration of Lucy Lui was awesome. The end was very suspenseful. Definitely worth the listen!
This is an excellent book and the narrator’s calm voice made the story even more compelling. As I listened to this audiobook, I noticed I was comparing situations in the book to what is currently happening in our society. This book is a warning for us to not be easily manipulated by our fear and hatred.
3.5 stars. Another dystopian look at what this word can be if we let the wrong people get into power and try and scare us into thinking that people are out to get us!
A brutal, depressing story that goes on for way too long.
