Unabridged Audiobook
One of the best spy books I've ever read. Highly recommended.
The plot, a sort of paean to the sleazy aspect of intelligence work and is unintended and potentially disastrous consequences, is worthwhile, once you tease it out from beneath all of the protaganist’s introspection and self-analysis. Equally distracting is the author’s reliance on complex similes to describe — well, everything. Dare I day that the author seemed intent on festooning his descriptive pose with them, like he was decorating a town square Christmas tree. With many branches. On Christmas Eve. In the snow.
