“Few [books] become essential manuals for business and living. The Power of Habit is an exception.”—Financial Times

A WALL STREET JOURNAL AND FINANCIAL TIMES BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR

In The Power of Habit, award-winning business reporter Charles Duhigg takes us to the thrilling edge of scientific discoveries that explain why habits exist and how they can be changed. Distilling vast amounts of information into engrossing narratives that take us from the boardrooms of Procter & Gamble to the sidelines of the NFL to the front lines of the civil rights movement, Duhigg presents a whole new understanding of human nature and its potential. At its core, The Power of Habit contains an exhilarating argument: The key to exercising regularly, losing weight, being more productive, and achieving success is understanding how habits work. As Duhigg shows, by harnessing this new science, we can transform our businesses, our communities, and our lives.

Extremely eye opening and informational on how we are manipulated into buying trends. The habits we have and why. Very good information for everyone.

Great book and narrator, very interesting and informative.

The information was interesting but mostly about product habits and not creating your own habits in life. Yes, you can take the things said and apply them to yourself but was hoping for more details about everyday habit forming.

I couldn’t turn it off! Charles Duhigg is so good at turning a long list of cases into a story that holds your attention. I was left inspired and encouraged. My friends are getting tired of hearing about Everything I learned, but I am already using his discoveries at work and at home.

I was not a big fan of the narrator. He tried different voices for different characters and it was annoying to listen to. The book itself is good with a wealth of examples to prove the authors points. Takes a weird twist at the end where it becomes very philosophical.

This has some good research but most of the analysis are extremely poor... It's missing clear explanations for readers to apply those tips.

This is a very informative and practical book. It gives you an understanding about your habits and why you do things habitually. It also offers you how to analyze and come up with possible alternatives and solutions to change the habbits. I will listen to it a few more time. The Narrator also did a great job too.

This has honestly been the most I've learned from a book since high school. Very informative, amazingly interesting read. It's amazing how you can change the way you look at life itself in such a short time. I will read this again and again.

Although I already knew about all of the neuroscientific experiments that were mentioned in this book, the way they were mixed with psychology and personal perceptions, made the book really amusing. The fact that the author was the narrator was an extra plus!

Helpful and insightful.

I loved this book! It gives a lot of examples but they really helped me understand how a habit forms and how to change it. At the end it also gives practical and easily applied advice.

The books is awesome ! I really like all the information and I'ts been eye opening as well as making me hopeful that I can change habits that I thought were hard rooted. The Narrator is awesome . This is the only book I've listened to on this app. I had other apps and this book was way more expensive on other audio books apps. The only thing that I would improve is that when I listen to it on my car sometimes it doesn't recognize what I had already read at the iphone while not connected. So not sure if its the app. or the car doing this trick ... but other than that ... AWESOME so fat !

I enjoyed this book. It has a lot of good information about how habits are formed and even throws in a couple of ways to create new habits to replace your old ones. Although, I think there could have been more focus on habit reformation and creation. The narrator is pleasant to listen to but he can get overly invested in certain sections which can distract from the material.

Good an interesting in the sense of HOW habits are formed but I'm still not 100% convinced how to create new habits

I really appreciated the information in the book...the insights, takeaways and overall understanding of how habits effect one's life and how to take control of them. Highly recommend!

Amazing book , so true how many habits we have and we are unaware. With this book if you are open enough you will be able to recognize them and then so easy change the ones you don’t like them.

This is not a self help book it's more like a lot of research about habits and stories about people who had habits that they broke or stories about how scientists learned more about habits. I really walked away without really understanding what they wanted me to take away from the book. It was a boring waste of time.
