Unabridged Audiobook
My favorite story, there's just no writing in modern day literature to compare to the beauty of Austen's stories. The narration was great.
After listening to this classic romantic tale, I felt like I was listening to a late 1800's version of Mean Girls. The first half of the story was slow in providing character development. The second half of the book was much more interesting and flawed at a better pace. The narration was okay, as I would have preferred more emotion and differentiation of character voices.
A classic read for a reason. The narrator was fabulous except in her male impersonations. Those were quite painful.
Wit and Whimsey abound in this humorous story about Regency-Era courtship
Dreadful narration. Took s meat cleaver to Austen's wonderful syntax.
This was a favorite when I was young and was even better as an adult when I could appreciate the wit! The narrator does such a magnificent job of capturing the sarcasm throughout the book and especially the utter ridiculousness of the mother. Will be listening to this book again soon!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The narrator was magnificent.
Loved the book.
Marvelous literature, as is to be expected of Jane Austen, and Marguerite Gavin does an outstanding narration (and I am picky about narrators).
BOOK: I'm on a quest to listen to as many classics as possible. Albeit appealing and even humorous at times, Pride and Prejudice was generally slow and somewhat pretentious. Nevertheless, if I learned anything from the book, it's that few differences exist in people from that era to today. NARRATION: If I could give a rating above a 5, I would. Marguerite Gavin brought what was 'alive' about this book to life! Certainly one of my favorite narrators. Narrating is a talent. She's got it!
