Summary
WATCH WILL TRENT ON ABC!

The New York Times bestselling author of Pieces of Her returns with the next novel in the Will Trent series that “comes with just the right amount of twists, turns, shocks, surprises and domestic thrill and shrill” (Parade).

He watches. He waits. He takes. Who will be next . . .

Atlanta, Georgia. Present day. A young woman is brutally attacked and left for dead. The police investigate but the trail goes cold. Until a chance assignment takes GBI investigator Will Trent to the state penitentiary, and to a prisoner who says he recognizes the MO. The attack looks identical to the one he was accused of eight years earlier. The prisoner’s always insisted that he was innocent, and now he’s sure he has proof. The killer is still out there.

As Will digs into both crimes it becomes clear that he must solve the original case in order to reach the truth. Yet nearly a decade has passed—time for memories to fade, witnesses to vanish, evidence to disappear. And now he needs medical examiner Sara Linton to help him hunt down a ruthless murderer. But when the past and present collide, everything Will values is at stake …]

This is one of the very best Karin Slaughter book. I’ve read them all, but this was my first listen. The narrator was ok, but I was very put off by her attempts at male voices. I’d prefer to listen to a male reading male dialogue and a female reading female dialogue.

It took so long for the story to get interesting. Too much back fill and the story left big holes unfilled. It was also very predictable.

way too much detail...eight year gap not explained well...way to many characters and overall just blah....not worth your time

I have read a good number of her previous books and enjoyed them very much. This one I found to be over long and someone disjointed. Plotting was excellent but the stories were not tied together well.

It was good. I like that it incorporates all of the characters-but I don’t care for the ending of some of them-hopefully SOMEONE will eventually get what they deserve! Other than that it’s good like her others, a little more descriptive in the assault/medical aspect, which is not my taste, but not terrible. This narrator is perfect for the series. Never disappoints!

Best of the series. Can’t wait for the next one. Story suspense matched by the personal tension between Will And Sara with very satisfying resolution to both. Narration again superb.
