Unabridged Audiobook
I pretty much suffer through this series as I'm trying to mine the tiny nuggets of info for the new canon. Far too many "convenient" occurrences don't allow for any risk. You just know in your heart of hearts no one is going to die, no matter how close it gets. But there were some interesting bits. I do love Mr. Bones. Narration is really good, which made this bearable.

I like this book a lot. It is less choppy, unlike the first book. The characters grow in more interesting ways, especially Singir, and he becomes more likeable. The wookies make this book interesting.
Slightly better writing than the first book in this series, but the characters are still written very uninteressting making the whole book a real struggle to get through. The one star is for the "Empire parts" which is partly interessting. The narration is ok in some parts, but I don't like it when the narrator is trying to make different voices for the characters. The "female voices" especially sounds awful. This trilogy of books is not what you are looking for. Not recommended.
So much better than the first book. Constant action with a very interesting imperial storyline. It may be a bit predictable and cheesy, but that’s Star Wars

Like every Star Wars book I’ve listened to, the narration and production values are amazing!!!! The only reason I gave the book 4 out of 5 is because it’s not my favourite book or trilogy. If you haven’t read the Darth Bane trilogy I’d start there but these books are still amazing !!!!!!!
This was an excellent book. The action was well written and narrated. I? can’t wait to finish this trilogy with next book, “Empire’s End”
Far superior to the first Aftermath - the original characters have their origin and "come together" moments out of the way here, and they really do compete with Han and Leia for most enjoyable characters. And yes, Han and Leia are all over this so finally some OT characters making a big impact in this book. Unless you count Wedge, who was in the first novel, this is really the first appearance of the characters we know and love from the movies and they are a more than welcome addition. The narrator had an EXCELLENT Han Solo/Harrison Ford voice; major plus. I really thought they weren't going to feature any of the "big three" based on Aftermath part 1, so needless to say, a very welcome surprise. I have heard great things about the final installment of the trilogy of Aftermath books, and after experiencing the quality of this novel, I am completely stoked to read/listen to "Empire's End". The audio was top notch. John Williams music, great sound fx and ambience, and a very capable narrator(although not the best at female voices-that would be only complaint)
This follow up book was easier to follow along with than the Aftermath book 1. There were a couple off shoots but they didn't distract. Definatly gives more insight on how the Empire begins its change.
Best sci Fi audio book I have listened to. Just as good as book one.
This series seems to be necessary to the SW universe. Necessary doesn't mean enjoyable. The usage of old characters seems incredibly forced and their appearance only seems to serve as a scale for new characters. Bones particularly is a deus ex machina employed to an eyerolling degree. If this wasn't SW, it wouldn't matter.
Great book! The chapters are reasonable length and present good stopping points.

Marc Thompson is always good. Let me first say, this book is better than the first one, but that's not saying much. Needless to say, I will not be listening to the third installment. Recommend Bloodline and Lost Stars instead.
