Summary
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of A Discovery of Witches—look for the hit TV series “A Discovery of Witches,” streaming on AMC+, Sundance Now and Shudder.

What does it truly take to become a vampire?

On the battlefields of the American Revolution, Matthew de Clermont meets Marcus MacNeil, a young surgeon from Massachusetts, during a moment of political awakening when it seems that the world is on the brink of a brighter future. When Matthew offers him a chance at immortality and a new life free from the restraints of his puritanical upbringing, Marcus seizes the opportunity to become a vampire. But his transformation is not an easy one and the ancient traditions and responsibilities of the de Clermont family clash with Marcus's deeply held beliefs in liberty, equality, and brotherhood.

Fast-forward to contemporary Paris, where Phoebe Taylor--the young employee at Sotheby's whom Marcus has fallen for--is about to embark on her own journey to immortality. Though the modernized version of the process at first seems uncomplicated, the couple discovers that the challenges facing a human who wishes to be a vampire are no less formidable than they were in the eighteenth century. The shadows that Marcus believed he'd escaped centuries ago may return to haunt them both--forever.

A passionate love story and a fascinating exploration of the power of tradition and the possibilities not just for change but for revolution, Time's Convert, the fourth books in the All Souls Series channels the supernatural world-building and slow-burning romance that made the previous books instant bestsellers to illuminate a new and vital moment in history, and a love affair that will bridge centuries.

I'm sorry but this narrator made listening to this version very torturous to the point that I didn't enjoy book 4 and I LOVED the first 3!!!!

I love these books. It was VERY difficult to get us to the new narrator. I did not like some of the voices. Specifically ysabeau’s. The voice for her was deep. Some of the characters I couldn’t distinguish. Most of the males seemed to sound the same unless they had a slight accent.

I love the Deborah harkness books but this narrator made listening to this book I'm possible. Jennifer, the narrator of the the all souls trilogy should have been hired to read this one too.

The series is amazing!! The last book falls a little short for me though. It almost felt rushed. I just wanted it to keep going!

Love the series but parts of this one drug on a bit. And then at the end, the ending seemed rushed after such a long story. Hope the next one is a little better.

Painful to listen too. Narrator uses way too much vocal fry, which comes across like finger nails on a chalkboard. Would be a great listen otherwise.

Enjoyable but not as captivating as "A Discovery of Witches" nor as enchanting as “Shadow of Night” and “The Book of Life”.

I am a faithful All Souls convert and was hesitant to read this book but I must say I did enjoy it. It was hard to get used to a different narrator. It continues the All Souls story and I am anxiously awaiting the next installment. Thank you Dr. Harkness.

I love this story and the creative mashup with witches and vampires. this final installment dwelt more on the journey of this young vampire into an ancient world and finding his place to fit and be happy. two thumbs up.

I have really enjoyed this whole series. This book wasn't the ending I had hoped for but I still enjoyed it. The narrator wasn't as great or as smooth to listen to but after a few chapters I got used to the changes. She didn't ruin it for me. I absolutely loved this series as a whole.

Narrator is great but the story has taken a really boring turn…

It took a very brief period to get used to the new narrator but got over it. I believe she did a fine job. The story of Marcus and Phoebe was nice but found myself wanting to hurry through their parts and hear more about the twins. I hope future stories focus more on them.

Jennifer Ikeda the narrator of the first 3 books was absolutely AMAZING. She made me believe in the story. She made every character different. The narrator for this book made the last book of the series meh. I’m sorry but it’s true for me. I was very disappointed with this read. Still love the series. Gonna listen to it again.

Very well read. I loved the the story of Marcus and Phoebe. I hope Deborah Harkness continues writing about the witches and Vampires. I'm very curious about the development of the twins.

Loved the story! As with others, it took time to adjust to a new narrator, but it’s not the first series where that has happened. It’s interesting how we get attached to the book not only through the story, but the reader. Definitely worth the purchase if you can ‘look’ beyond the different narrators.
