Unabridged Audiobook
This was my first Linwood Barclay book, but it won't be the last. The character development was excellent, and there were more twists and turns than San Francisco's Lombard Street. I stayed captivated to the very end. Barclay has a very efficient style of writing, and there are no wasted words. I can't wait to explore other titles from this author, and I just checked, and there are 22 more books he has written. If they are as good as "Too Close To Home," I'll be reading Linwood Barclay for years.
This was a great mystery listen, many different sub-plots that left you guessing till the end, who actually 'did it'. A very good author, and the narrator was also good.
I absolutely love to read this writers creations. Too bad he only has 2 books to select from. What I do find extremely annoying, (and not confined to just this writer), is the way the book is divided up into 99 audio-file chapters. There is a constant pausing in the middle of the sentence to change chapters. You can get completely unfocused with the partial sentences that are created by the pauses when dividing into separate audio files. Could someone tell me why?????? Why is it necessary to divide the CD into 99 audio files????? It is just plain ANNOYING!!!
