Unabridged Audiobook
Can't believe it''s taken me so long to "read" this book. I wish I'd done so much sooner. Thank you, Morrie, for your many words of wisdom. You're still touching hearts and minds long after your passing.
I purchased this to accompany reading the text in class. The narration doesn't follow the book word-for-word, but the concepts and ideas are the exact same. A few of my students said that the narrator read too fast, but I didn't find the pace to be too rapid. No matter how you look at it, this is a great book with an amazing message.
MITCH ALBUM HAS AN INCREDIBLE WRITING STYLE. HE NARRATES THIS BOOK WITH FEELING AND HUMOR. IT'S ABOUT A WONDERFUL MAN THAT CAN INSPIRE ALL. ABSOLUTELY TIMELESS. 5 STARS!
Wonderful, terrificly told story. We could all learn a thing or two from this book!
Fantastic. Moving. Well written an narrated. I highly recommend.
I am lucky to have this book for my first audio book. It is a wonderful book, Morrie taught us a good life lessons. This book can nourish our souls, inspire our minds and enlighten our spirits. I can't wait to read this book.
Absolutely fantastic so far !
Loved it. Such a wonderful friendship ❤️ Thank you for sharing the story of amazing Morrie
Good to visit this book again it means something different this time from when I first read it. Mr. Albom was perfect choice to read this .
Great book and even better listening to it!
I was emotionally sucked in multiple times throughout the book. The narrator did a great impression and distinction for morrie’s voice. The lessons and perspectives that were taught and explained best toward the end were powerful and motivating and encouraging and hopeful. I’m very happy that some of the recordings were actually placed in the book at the end for us to hear him personally
great book
I enjoyed this book because of the subject matter primarily. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it was read way too fast for my taste, it took the joy out of it for me.
I really loved the book. I have recommended it to a friend that had his mother die of ALS . Morris death and the dieing were truly beautiful if that were possible.
Fabulous book. I read it long ago and listened to it again recently. It is one of the few books I have read that can be re read over and over. You will get something different out of it each time. Loved that at the end they played some of the actual interviews with Morrie.
I was lucky to have this book for my audio book! Such a touching and meaningful biography book! I like the last recording part! When I heard Morrie's sound from recording that made me cry.
Great recording and I love ordering audiobooks from here.
Great audiobook! Narrator is easy to follow and the story is wholesome and touching.
This book was my first pick for my gift subscription. I read it when first published but to hear Mitch Albon as the narrator is fantastic. What a tribute to the human spirit and the power of love. A wonderful surprise at the end to hear the voice of Morrie from the original recordings.
First chapter was interesting; rest became repetitive and couldn't keep my interest. My bugaboo ... abridged versions. That could be the problem.
Fabulous way to learn to look at life! we have forgotten so much, life is truely to short to not take morrie's advice
This Book is the BEST book we have listen to since becoming members of this club. My husband & I loved it. We both recall "Our" teachers who taught us Life lessons, that we carry with us. It is a thought provoking book, with some good lessons for all. We will both be recomending it to our Family & Friends. Morrie was a man we would have liked to know, and call a friend. The book leaves you feeling like you did know him. WONDERFUL !
Wonderful and uplifting! Morrie teaches the fundamentals of a good life. Despite it's sad end, it's a book I know I'll want to read again and again to remind myself of what's important in life!
Important things to think about in life... I wish there was more. I feel like a better person having listened to it.
What a beautiful book this is. It was wonderful to have the author read it. He gave it even more meaning by reading it. We are very lucky to have the chance to read and listen to literature of this quality. I hope to be able to be a person more like Morrie.
I have been meaning to read this book for a long time, and was happy to see it available on CD. And it was well worth the listening time. I would be surprised if any listener didn't come away at a minimum with food for thought. And excellent rental and now I will definately make the time to read the book.
A touching, easy listen. You'll finish it with a new perspective on what is most important in life. Maybe you'll even put some of Morrie's words into practice as you drive down the road.
Mitch Albom always knows how to tug at the heartstrings. All of his work is phenominally personal and imparts something subtle and wonderful. Tuesdays with Morrie, though, was just a little verbose for me. I love that people like Morrie and Albom are, or have been, part of the world -- it restores my faith in humanity -- but the audiobook was just a little tedious. The Five People You Meet in Heaven and For One More Day were better, I believe. Perhaps the book will be more meaningful to those who have had their own "Morrie" -- we should all be so fortunate.
Wow! I finished this book and since my next selection had not arrived yet I started it again. Deeply moving, thought provoking yet simple in the basic understanding and breaking down of human nature. Funny how so simple a thing can be so difficult for all of us to grasp. Loved it, only wish there was more. Enjoyed the part at the end where you got to hear portions of Mitch and Morrie's actual conversations on tape.
This book was not what I expected. It was slow moving and tedious. Not my cup of tea.
This audio book is outstanding once you get past the first few minutes. It echoes many of things I believe in, e.g., that people are more important than amassing riches and that we gain when we love one another. It's wonderful to know that there are still people who pause to enjoy the simple things in life.
This book was great! It really made me think about the meaning of life and what's really important. I highly recommend this title!
This was an easy quick book with a great message. The author does a good job reading and I also liked the actual recordings at the end.
This book was haunting - prompted a lot of good, deep thoughts about my own feelings & life.
I enjoyed this book. Very endearing. Laughed and cried. Morrie would be the perfect Grandfather to have for lessons on life. Would recommend it.
Great book and real audio at the end was awesome!!!
A great story that makes you feel warm inside. I like how the actual Morrie's voice comes in at the end from the real recordings.
How can you not love Morrie? He's the teacher everybody wishes they had. This is an uplifting, feel-good listen.
I had to "read" this book for a class and I'm glad it gave me an opportunity to know Morrie's story. I am currently reading an introduction to buddhism and thought that many of Morrie's philosophies were similar to buddhist teachings. Just another example of how all belief systems can be interrelated. A good book and I really enjoyed being able to listen to the "real" Morrie towards the end of the audio version.
This was a mistake for me .. My wife has cancer and is taking Chemo .. bad choice for me
Alsolutely a great book. The author tells a story that will touch the heart of all who hear it.
I was in a little bit of agreement with "Serendipity Artist". These aren't lessons that most of us haven't been presented with at some time during our life. What was incredible about this book was the depth of the friendship between student and teacher and the fact that all of life's lessons are presented together as a testimonial to the way Morrie lived his life. It portrays death as something we should not be afraid of or disgusted by, but as something to embrace and share with those closest to us. It's amazing how we end up very similarly to how we began as babies - helpless and totally reliant upon those around us.
I didn't realize a movie had been made of this book. I can't wait to see it. This book is truly a gift, and my plan is to go purchase a hard copy of it and highlight the lessons I most need to refer back to. It's the kind of thing that you can't hear too much of, and most of us need to be reminded of on occasion.
I have only two comments about this book. 1. It should be required reading for everyone. There are so many 'truths' in this book that everyone should know before it's too late. 2. Everyone should have someone like Morrie in his/her life, just in case they forget those simple 'truths'
I watched the movie and LOVED the book. I really liked being able to hear the real Morrie at the end.
Although I knew the ending, I couldn't stop listening. How I would have loved to meet Morrie!!
My first impression was dissappointment. As an introspective human, I found the lessons Morrie shared to be ones that I had long-since learned by living an introspective life. Morrie and Mitch allow us into their journey --- it's sweet, honest and hopeful yet painful and toxic too. The reality of our mortality is harsh when viewed on a scale of short term time like months, weeks or days. Take time to really listen to this one...be totally present and you will be rewarded.
The very best part of this audio book is the end where Mitch Albom has clips of his actually conversations with Morrie before he passed away. A wonderful way to look at life and for all of us to attempt to conduct our personal relationships!
There's not enough space in this review for me to list everything I loved about this book. Mitch Albom has done the entire world a favor by giving us his private moments with a great man like Morrie. It makes you laugh and cry for all the right reasons and was a joy to listen to from beginning to end.
This book is truly inspirational. While kind of depressing because it deals with death and dying, it brings to light what is important about life and living. Anyone who feels they are existing rather than truly living will be motivated to become a better person. Beautifully written and told.
A nice overview of what is really important in life.
