Who are you? When you start to explore this question, you find out
how elusive it really is. Are you a physical body? A collection of
experiences and memories? A partner to relationships? Each time you consider these aspects of yourself, you realize that there is much more to you than any of these can define. In The Untethered Soul,
spiritual teacher Michael A. Singer explores the question of who we are and arrives at the conclusion that our identity is to be found in our
consciousness, the fact of our ability to observe ourselves, and the world around us. By tapping into traditions of meditation and
mindfulness, Singer shows how the development of consciousness can
enable us all to dwell in the present moment and let go of painful
thoughts and memories that keep us from achieving happiness and
self-realization.The Untethered Soul offers a frank and friendly discussion of consciousness and how we can
develop it. In part one, Singer examines the notion of self and the inner dialogue we all live with. Part two examines the experience of energy as it flows through us and works to show listeners how to open their hearts to the energy of experience that permeates their lives. Ways to overcome tendencies to close down to the rest of the world are the subject of
part three. Enlightenment, the embrace of universal consciousness, is the subject of part four. And finally, in part five, Singer returns to daily life and the pursuit of unconditional happiness. Throughout, the book maintains a light and engaging tone, free from heavy dogma and prescriptive religious references. The easy exercises that figure in each chapter help listeners experience the ideas that Singer presents.
Wonderful...It has helped me just from one listening.

Life changing eye opener. Slight dips in volume in the narration, but well worth the listen; the lessons in this book apply to everyone everywhere and will work wonders for those that easily get caught up in the stresses of everyday life..

Unfortunately, I simply could not listen to this book because the narrator was such a distraction that I could barely concentrate on the message. I loved listening to The Surrender Experiment which Singer narrated himself. The Untethered Soul would have been amazing to have heard the author instead. I have now bought the paperback version so I didn't have to listen to Peter Berkrot's sing-song version.

Very thought provoking, giving the reader lots to think about and contemplate. I now have an inner roommate that I acknowledge and do my best to just observe, instead of listen to, as though It's voice was truth, it's a trip to consider really!

Excellent book. Explaining principles using real life situations helped me understand the meaning. The narration was dramatic which I liked though there were portions where it became difficult to hear.

Life transforming book that has completely changed my life. Read twice and recommend it to anyone who wants to live an ecstatic worry free life - the author guides you so gracefully on how to get there.
One of my best reads ever! Great eye opener which I highly recommend
I enjoy this author but this book was hard to read because it doesn’t go straight to the point.
A wonerful book and very well narrated. Enjoyed every minute of it.
I was very interested for the first half but it turned into a very religious Christian spin which was a massive turn off I'd have been very impressed if the author managed to write a book without turning into typical preaching
This book is really great. It has a coaching aspect that uses a fair amount of repetition, which I like. The narrator is very good and there is a lot of humor in the way that the concepts are presented.
Great food for thought and well narrated
Highly recommend.
Best book I've read in many years.
Excellent source of knowledge that I’m sure I will be revisiting often.
life changing ..a tool for peace in a time of crisis
Beautiful ! I love the peace and freedom I felt at the end
Brilliant! Loved the reality check and humour with acknowledging what we all do. Very interesting and enlightening.
great to hear
I wasn’t able to finish this audiobook due to the narrator. Michael Singer’s The Surrender Experiment was much better since he narrated it himself. This narrator ends too many sentences in a whisper so that I can’t understand what he’s saying, even turning the volume all the way up. Yes, I have a mild hearing loss and wear hearing aids, but I’ve never had this problem with any other audiobooks (and I listen to 2 or 3 per week). I wish Singer would redo this with his own narration.
This book is a life changer! I highly recommend it!
Excellent book. This is the most down to earth explanation of Buddhisty, esoteric concepts I've ever encountered. The author uses common life analogies to teach grander lessons. He makes 'the path' graspable. Great book!
