Summary
His orders are clear: launch a raid against England, and bring home the spoils of war. But the prophecy is also clear: General Torben will take a foreign bride-one who is a seer and a healer just like his mother. The eldest princess of England is said to be just that: a beautiful, charming, and headstrong woman. But he's a Viking army general, and she's an English princess-and one who is already promised to the king of Tara. Two worlds collide in this historical epic that's centered upon an undeniable chemistry that smolders against the odds. Richly written and injected with moments of humor, this action-packed romantic tale will leave you breathless.

Narrators: this book has two narrators, as the book is written from the POVs of two protagonists. Both narrators, however, have terrible accents. They do, at least, do well enough at giving each character different enough characteristics that it is possible to tell which character is speaking at all times, but the accents nearly made my ears bleed at times. Author: This really shouldn't be considered historical fiction. If anything, it could be considered alternative history (if not straight-up fiction) as all the characters and most of the place names are made up. Additionally, the author regularly uses language that would not have existed at the time of the Vikings (words like "bloomers" and "ok" are quite regularly used). Also, this is part of a series; I might not have started this book if I had known it wasn't a self-contained novel.
