Unabridged Audiobook
Not bad but a decent story , Stephen King should stick to writing though
Not sure what to think but Steve O should not Narrate. Say true, say sorry.
Sorry Stephen King, the narration dots the book a disservice. Almost had to stop listening. Apologies.
I like it
I like it when Stephen reads. We get a better feel for how he intended for the story to be told, although other narrators have that story teller flair.
I love when Stephen King reads his own work. They are always the most memorable.
I would have liked an older and crustier narration Otherwise we were well met!!!...thankee
Oh my, how can It be posible!? In the beginning Stephen as a narrator was so disappointing. Then, in some moment, he starts to performe excellent some characters and turns to be very very very good. Haven't got to the end of the skinchanger tale tonhear older Roland again, the worst voice of all against the other Dark Tower audiobooks voices. However, must recognise that the very improving of the narrating caught me up deeply and is making me enjoy further more than I expected. The book content itsef, just magic and so explendid when it is written by Stephen. Paperread before, audioread now, hilarious fulfilling.
So, it's like an off Broadway concept of Inception as told by pirates. Yar! I didn't hate it. Pretty interesting. I did not like Stephen King reading it though. That part was bad.
It's true, after listening to the previous DT books narrated by "professionals" (actors), King seems a lot less polished in his delivery. But as the story unfolds you forget all about it. He does *try* to do some alternate voices (the sheriff is very well done). He does improve as the book goes on, so don't let the initial shock of his somewhat monotone reading scare you off.
I enjoyed this extra tidbit of Roland's story, but I have to say it was difficult to listen to with SK reading it. He did improve as the story went on but it seems as though writing is his forte, not reading.
I think King brings something special to this work. It was Kings reading of the Gunslinger that made me fall in love with this series.
Wow, I think you guys are being harsh on King. He did do different voices and wasn't horrible at all. If you can't appreciate the author of a great series and many other books reading his own work then maybe then maybe you should write your own book and see if you do a better job reading yours.
Are all the decent narrators dead? God, SK is a BAD reader!
