Unabridged Audiobook
Interweaving the narratives of several well-drawn characters through a single night, Murakami creates a thought-provoking treatment of time. This novella offers a satisfying introduction to the world of this masterful author -- a world more fully and richly experienced in his longer novels. The narration was authentic for the female characters, but her exaggerated gruffness for the male characters sounded more like The Big Bad Wolf of fairy tales than authentic characters.
This was a great book full of mystery. I especially liked the evolution of Mari's relationship with her sister. Mari's sarcasm was also enjoyable.
