I'll be traveling to another country. Will my Audiobooks.com account still work?
Yes, your account will still work, but depending on where you travel, you may not be able to purchase the same titles that you can at home (due to publisher restrictions). We recommend adding your desired audiobooks to your library before you leave. You can then download, delete, or stream them no matter where you are.
What is the difference between streaming and downloading?
When you stream an audiobook, you're able to instantly listen to the book over your internet connection. The great thing about streaming is that you don't need to download the audiobook first to listen to it, and it doesn't take up space on your device.

Downloading is a great option when you have an internet connection and want to keep the book on your device for offline listening, especially if you're heading somewhere with poor reception.

Can I review an audiobook?
Yes, once logged in, click into a book on either our website or in-app. You will then, scroll down and be able to type out your review, leave an overall rating, and leave a rating for the narrator as well. For full guidelines on our book reviews and their approval process, please read our Terms of Use.
Do you sell audiobooks on CD?
No, we only offer our audiobooks as digital downloads to be listened to via our website or our apps for iOS or Android.
How do I delete all my personal data from Audiobooks.com?
Please visit www.audiobooks.com and log in to your account. Go to the My Account page, scroll to the bottom, and underneath the promo code area, you should see a Forget Me button.
Do you offer audiobooks in languages other than English?
Yes, we do! We offer audiobooks in Spanish, French, Italian, German, and many more. When you search for the audiobook you’re looking for, all of the different language versions of that title should show up if available. We recommend that you listen to the audiobook sample before making your purchase to ensure that you are claiming the correct language version.
What is a book credit?
1 book credit allows you to listen to any audiobook in our library. If you find yourself wanting to listen to more books, you can add book credits to your subscription as you go.
What do I need to know about my free trial?
Sign up for our free trial, and get your first book(s) free. Once your free trial has expired, your monthly subscription fee will be automatically charged to the billing information on your account, and you can continue to enjoy great audiobooks.

Please note that your free trial begins the day you sign up. For example, if you signed up for the free trial on July 1st, your first billing date would be July 31st.

Cancel anytime during your free trial period. Canceling your free trial will remove your free trial book and your VIP selection from your account. If you had not yet used your free trial credit, it will be removed from your account. Books purchased a la carte are not affected by account cancellation.
Can I prepay for my membership?
Yes, you can pre-pay for your membership! Here’s how to do it:

  1. Login to your account on our website.

  2. Navigate to My Account in the top right corner.

  3. Click on Manage Plan in the top section.



We offer flexible pre-paid plans, including options for 3, 6, and 12 months. You can also choose a plan that provides multiple monthly credits.

Can I listen to more than one audiobook per month?
Absolutely! With our subscription plan, one credit is automatically added to your account each month. To get more, you can either purchase top-up credits through the website or claim books instantly using our InstaCredit feature in the app.

If you find yourself topping up your account frequently, you may want to upgrade your account to either a 2 or 3 credit per month plan. By doing so, you could save on the price of credits! To do this, log into your account on our website, click My Account in the top right of the screen, and then click Change My Subscription Plan. From here, you can select the plan you’d like.
What happens if I miss my monthly payment?
Not to worry! We'll place your account on hold for you if a payment is missed. To reactivate your account, update your payment details by logging in on web, then click My Account in the top right corner. From here, scroll down to Billing Information and click ‘Change Payment Info.’ If you need additional help, contact our customer service team.
Can I cancel my membership?
Some relationships just aren't meant to be, which is why there are absolutely no restrictions on when you can cancel your Audiobooks.com membership. To cancel, go to My Account (the link is in the top right when you're logged in) and select Cancel Account under the Billing Information section. Note, your account cannot be canceled in-app.

How do I edit my billing information?
You can edit your billing information by logging into your account on our website (www.audiobooks.com). Once logged in, click My Account at the top right of the screen, scroll down to the Billing Information section, and click Change Payment Info. You will then be able to update your payment information and click Update.
What happens to my audiobooks if I cancel my subscription?
If you choose to cancel your subscription with Audiobooks.com, you will still retain access to all audiobooks you’ve purchased (including via credit). However, you will lose access to any VIP Rewards section audiobooks, and if you cancel during your free trial, you will also lose access to any audiobooks acquired with a free trial credit.
My subscription is paused/suspended; how do I reactivate?
To reactivate your subscription, log in to your Audiobooks.com account on our website (www.audiobooks.com). Once logged in, click My Account at the top right of the screen, and in the top section, click Reactivate. Your subscription details will be shown for you to review, and then click Reactivate Subscription to complete your reactivation.
Do you have a mobile app?
Yes, we do! You can stream or download your favorite books from Audiobooks.com on your iPhone or iPad, or Android smartphone, via our apps.

Do you support offline listening?
Yes, we do! Whether you’re on an airplane or in an area without network coverage, you can enjoy any previously-downloaded audiobooks that are saved to your device, since playing downloaded books doesn’t use data or require an internet connection. You won’t be able to browse the app, but just click on My Library to listen to your saved library.
How do I see how many credits I have in the app?
To see how many credits you have, tap the icon in the top right to open your profile. Then again, in the top right, tap to open Settings. In the top section, you’ll see your available credits.
How do I log out of the app?
To log out, open the menu and select Settings. At the bottom of the top section, click the orange Logout button.
How do I delete a book in the app?
To delete a book in-app, tap My Library on the bottom menu, which will automatically load your current listens. Tap the three white dots at the top left corner of the book you’d like to delete from your device and select Remove.

What is the Audiobooks.com VIP member benefit, and how can I participate?

VIP books refresh every month on the first day of the month, at which point you’ll be able to browse the new selection and make your choice for one download. All your VIP books will remain in your library as long as you remain an active subscriber.
If I don’t make a VIP selection one month, can I select two books the following month?
Any unused VIP selection does not carry over to the following month. Be sure to make a selection every month to maximize the VIP member benefit!
What is Family Plan?
Family Plan is an exciting member feature that allows you to share your audiobooks with people in your household. By adding different family members to your account you allow them to save their own bookmarks and notes without interfering with your account.
Can I manage my Family Plan from within the Audiobooks.com app?
No, you can manage your Family Plan quickly and easily under My Account via our website.
Will my family members mess up my bookmarks?
No, each user will have separate bookmarks under their login information. Your progress is safe!
Will family members be able to read my notes?
No, we understand that reading notes are private so we made sure that your notes are kept secret.
Will every family member added to my account be able to purchase credits on my account?
As the primary account holder, you decide the level of access you would like each of your Family Plan members to have – Listen only, use credits (listen and use the credits if any are on the account), or the ability to buy & use credits.
If my family members purchase an audiobook, will I be able to view it on my account?
Yes! All audiobooks that you and/or your family members purchase will be available to every Family Plan member on your account, they will all appear in your library.
Can I add a friend to my Family Plan?
Anyone who is living in the same household as you is eligible to join your Family Plan.
How do I delete a family member from my account?
If the time comes and you need to remove a family member from accessing your account, simply log in to your Audiobooks.com account through web (not the app) and go to My Account. Under Account Type, you can see the accounts you have linked to your own. Here, you can select Remove under the name of the family member you’d like to remove from your account.
What is InstaCredit?
InstaCredit is an easy and hassle-free way to instantly purchase an extra credit and apply it to an audiobook without leaving the app. The InstaCredit feature can only be used if you have no remaining credits in your account. To use InstaCredits, make sure the feature is enabled under the in-app Settings menu. Then, choose the book you want and follow the pop-ups. A credit will be instantly purchased and redeemed for that book.
How do I pre-order an audiobooks?
On the book details page of the audiobook you’d like to pre-order, select the Pre-order button and complete the checkout process. You can pay by credit if you have a credit available, or you can choose to be charged for the purchase on the book's release date through another payment method. Upon release date, the pre-ordered audiobook will appear in your My Library section and you will be notified. Please note that all pre-ordered audiobooks will only be available for download as of their release date.
Where can I find my pre-ordered audiobook on Audiobooks.com?
To view and manage your pre-orders, log in to your Audiobooks.com account (website only) and click My Account in the top right of the screen. You will then select View Pre-orders Page, which will bring up all your completed, active, and canceled pre-orders.
What is the Pre-Order Pricing Policy?
Audiobooks.com's price for audiobooks that have not yet been released can fluctuate ahead of the release date; however, the price you will be charged when the audiobook is released will be the lowest price between (1) the price at the time you placed the pre-order and (2) the price at the time the audiobook is released.

Please note: If you pre-order an audiobook and choose to be charged a la carte pricing for the purchase rather than use an audiobook credit, your method of payment will not be charged until the item is available for download. The Pre-order Pricing Policy only applies to not-yet-released items available for pre-order; it does not apply to other items that have already been released and are available for purchase and download.

How do I cancel a pre-order?
To cancel a pre-order, log in to your Audiobooks.com account on our website and select My Account in the top right of the screen. You will then select View Pre-orders Page, which will bring up all your completed, active, and canceled pre-orders. To cancel an active pre-order that is waiting to be fulfilled, click Cancel This Pre-order. A pop-up will ask you to confirm that you would like to cancel; no further action will be required from you.
Can I purchase a gift subscription?
You can purchase a gift subscription by visiting the Gifts section on Audiobooks.com.
Can I gift a specific book?
No, you cannot gift a specific book to someone. However, you can purchase a 1, 3, 6, or 12-month gift subscription from our gift center. While completing the check-out process, you can select a book that you’d like to recommend your friend listen to first with their gift from you.
How can I redeem my gift code?

If you are an existing member who signed up through the Audiobooks.com app using your Google Play account or Apple ID, you will need to cancel your active subscription via your phone’s subscription manager first. This is because Google Play and Apple systems don’t allow us to pause your billing while your gift subscription is active.

My book won’t play, what do I do?
If you’ve downloaded the audiobook to your device, we recommend deleting it and retrying the download. If this does not fix the issue, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance.
Why is this book unavailable to me?
While our service is available internationally, some books may not be available in your country. When publishers get the rights to books, they may only get the rights to distribute in certain countries. We have to honor that distribution, so these books will be regionally restricted. If it were up to us, all audiobooks would be available worldwide!
Why doesn’t my book have chapters?
When we receive audiobooks from publishers, the chapters are converted to tracks. Sometimes the tracks do line up with the chapter numbers, but this depends on the specific title. To open the tracks while listening in-app, tap the middle button that says Track above the play button. This will allow you to navigate between tracks.

Please note, some older titles may not have tracks available at all simply because they predate this implementation.
What do I do if I claim the wrong book?
We all make mistakes! Please contact our Customer Service team and they can help you out.
How do I change the playback speed of an audiobook?
While listening to an audiobook in-app, tap the bottom left of the screen where it says 1x. Here, you can adjust your playback speed from 0.5x to 2x.
What does “abridged” mean?
Abridged means that it is a shortened version of the original book, which allows you to consume a larger book in a shorter amount of time.
What is the sleep timer and how do I use it?
While listening to an audiobook in-app, you can set a sleep timer, so that the book automatically stops playing after a set amount of time. To use this feature, while playing an audiobook, tap the crescent moon icon at the bottom of the screen, select your desired amount of time, and tap Apply.
What is a sample and how do I hear it?
We always want you to be able to sample an audiobook before using a credit or purchasing it. Simply navigate to the audiobook you’d like to sample and click Play. Both on the website and in-app, you will be able to listen to a few minutes of the book before deciding whether you’d like to use a credit to redeem the book or purchase it.
My audiobook comes with a PDF or other additional content, where do I view this?
Log in via our website and navigate to My Books. At the top of the page, there will be a Bonus Content tab, this is where you will be able to view all of your additional content for your titles. Note: this tab may not appear if you don't have any titles in your library with bonus content.
Can I download a book to my device without the app?
No. We only offer listening via our website, and/or within our app for iOS or Android.
How much device storage or data is used for an audiobook?
For device storage, the average audiobook size is 350MB (may vary for longer titles). And for data purposes, if you're streaming an audiobook, we suggest having at least 150MB bandwidth. If you're downloading the audiobook to your iPhone or Android smartphone, it's best to have at least 500MB of bandwidth free.
I signed up with Google/Amazon/an Apple ID and now I can’t login. What do I do?
If you signed up using one of these alternative methods, you will need to use your email and password associated with that account to access your Audiobooks.com account.

For Apple, if you are still having issues, this could be because you selected to sign-up with an anonymous email address. If you cannot remember this address, please contact our customer service team for assistance.
My book is in the wrong language, what do I do?

You can pay by credit if you have a credit available, or you can choose to be charged for the purchase on the book's release date through another payment method. Upon release date, the pre-ordered audiobook will appear in your My Library section and you will be notified. Please note that all pre-ordered audiobooks will only be available for download as of their release date.
Where can I find my pre-ordered audiobook on Audiobooks.com?
To view and manage your pre-orders, log in to your Audiobooks.com account (website only) and click My Account in the top right of the screen. You will then select View Pre-orders Page, which will bring up all your completed, active, and canceled pre-orders.
What is the Pre-Order Pricing Policy?
Audiobooks.com's price for audiobooks that have not yet been released can fluctuate ahead of the release date; however, the price you will be charged when the audiobook is released will be the lowest price between (1) the price at the time you placed the pre-order and (2) the price at the time the audiobook is released.

Please note: If you pre-order an audiobook and choose to be charged a la carte pricing for the purchase rather than use an audiobook credit, your method of payment will not be charged until the item is available for download. The Pre-order Pricing Policy only applies to not-yet-released items available for pre-order; it does not apply to other items that have already been released and are available for purchase and download.

How do I cancel a pre-order?
To cancel a pre-order, log in to your Audiobooks.com account on our website and select My Account in the top right of the screen. You will then select View Pre-orders Page, which will bring up all your completed, active, and canceled pre-orders. To cancel an active pre-order that is waiting to be fulfilled, click Cancel This Pre-order. A pop-up will ask you to confirm that you would like to cancel; no further action will be required from you.
Can I purchase a gift subscription?
You can purchase a gift subscription by visiting the Gifts section on Audiobooks.com.
Can I gift a specific book?
No, you cannot gift a specific book to someone. However, you can purchase a 1, 3, 6, or 12-month gift subscription from our gift center. While completing the check-out process, you can select a book that you’d like to recommend your friend listen to first with their gift from you.
How can I redeem my gift code?

Whoever gave you that gift sure has great taste! If you are a new listener or an existing member who signed up on our website, click here to get started.



If you are an existing member who signed up through the Audiobooks.com app using your Google Play account or Apple ID, you will need to cancel your active subscription via your phone’s subscription manager first. This is because Google Play and Apple systems don’t allow us to pause your billing while your gift subscription is active.

Google



  1. Log in to your Audiobooks.com account through our mobile app and tap the silhouette icon at the top right corner of your screen.

  2. In the same spot, there should be a cog/gear icon - tap this to open Settings.

  3. Tap on the Manage button beside Account Status.

  4. You should now be directed to your Google account, where you manage subscriptions. At the bottom of this page, you'll see the Cancel Subscription button.

  5. Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the resulting on-screen prompts.



Apple



  1. Open the Settings app on your iOS device.

  2. Navigate to Apple ID and then Subscriptions.

  3. Locate the line for Audiobooks.com and follow the on-screen prompts through cancellation confirmation.



Claiming Your Gift Code


Once you’ve canceled your Google or Apple subscription:



  1. Log in to your Audiobooks.com account on our website.

  2. Visit https://www.audiobooks.com/gifts/claim.

  3. Redeem the gift under the same account where your subscription was active to ensure your audiobooks are restored.



Important: Be sure to log in with the same account you used for your original subscription to ensure your audiobooks are restored to your account.

My book won’t play, what do I do?
If you’ve downloaded the audiobook to your device, we recommend deleting it and retrying the download. If this does not fix the issue, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance.
Why is this book unavailable to me?
While our service is available internationally, some books may not be available in your country. When publishers get the rights to books, they may only get the rights to distribute in certain countries. We have to honor that distribution, so these books will be regionally restricted. If it were up to us, all audiobooks would be available worldwide!
Why doesn’t my book have chapters?
When we receive audiobooks from publishers, the chapters are converted to tracks. Sometimes the tracks do line up with the chapter numbers, but this depends on the specific title. To open the tracks while listening in-app, tap the middle button that says Track above the play button. This will allow you to navigate between tracks.

Please note, some older titles may not have tracks available at all simply because they predate this implementation.
What do I do if I claim the wrong book?
We all make mistakes! Please contact our Customer Service team and they can help you out.
How do I change the playback speed of an audiobook?
While listening to an audiobook in-app, tap the bottom left of the screen where it says 1x. Here, you can adjust your playback speed from 0.5x to 2x.
What does “abridged” mean?
Abridged means that it is a shortened version of the original book, which allows you to consume a larger book in a shorter amount of time.
What is the sleep timer and how do I use it?
While listening to an audiobook in-app, you can set a sleep timer, so that the book automatically stops playing after a set amount of time. To use this feature, while playing an audiobook, tap the crescent moon icon at the bottom of the screen, select your desired amount of time, and tap Apply.
What is a sample and how do I hear it?
We always want you to be able to sample an audiobook before using a credit or purchasing it. Simply navigate to the audiobook you’d like to sample and click Play. Both on the website and in-app, you will be able to listen to a few minutes of the book before deciding whether you’d like to use a credit to redeem the book or purchase it.
My audiobook comes with a PDF or other additional content, where do I view this?
Log in via our website and navigate to My Books. At the top of the page, there will be a Bonus Content tab, this is where you will be able to view all of your additional content for your titles. Note: this tab may not appear if you don't have any titles in your library with bonus content.
Can I download a book to my device without the app?
No. We only offer listening via our website, and/or within our app for iOS or Android.
How much device storage or data is used for an audiobook?
For device storage, the average audiobook size is 350MB (may vary for longer titles). And for data purposes, if you're streaming an audiobook, we suggest having at least 150MB bandwidth. If you're downloading the audiobook to your iPhone or Android smartphone, it's best to have at least 500MB of bandwidth free.
I signed up with Google/Amazon/an Apple ID and now I can’t login. What do I do?
If you signed up using one of these alternative methods, you will need to use your email and password associated with that account to access your Audiobooks.com account.

For Apple, if you are still having issues, this could be because you selected to sign-up with an anonymous email address. If you cannot remember this address, please contact our customer service team for assistance.
My book is in the wrong language, what do I do?
If you’ve purchased an audiobook in the wrong language, please contact our Customer Service team for assistance.
