Unabridged Audiobook
Sad, poignant, full of broken promises and expectations. During the period that this book covered, European interests trumped moral obligation. These denied obligations has forever fostered our collective guilt as a people of this country. Unfortunately we as a nation are still dealing with the aftermath. All of that aside, this book was incredibly detailed and interesting. It was well researched and the author was unflinching in his effort to weave the story. I'll probably listen to this book again. Well done.
I love Arizona and New Mexico so hearing this part of the history is amazing. The level of detail is so in depth that it is a little hard to believe at times. It really puts you in the moment and shows you exactly what happened and what was said by looking at historical clippings. I felt it was as impartial as you can be on such a hot topic. Loved it. Narrator did a great job.
Excellent history.
The content and research done for the book was amazing. The Indian Wars were a very sad part of our history and terrible how we treated them. I can see why they tried to fight back. The narration was a little weak considering they weren't pronouncing the places, rivers and such correctly.
heart breaking.
If you're itching to listen to 20 plus hours of a history book with plenty of murder, betrayal, torture, and tragedy read hastily in an insensitive and hypermasculine tone, here you go!
