Lmao why does the narrator sound like he is growling at the end of every sentence?

Great book but this narrator is as annoying and tedious as possible.

It's was hard to actually concentrate on the content of this book because of the narrator. He sounds like he's doing a bad rendition of a movie trailer for each sentence, it's annoying.

Great Book. There are some complaints regarding the narrator being tedious. Its a free audiibook guys, common. But yes, feedback is a good thing. I would suggest you to listen at 1.5x speed.

I’ve listened to every chapter from a different version of this book, which featured three different narrators and occasionally some soft oriental music, all good, but I just couldn’t last more than 3 minutes of this narrators extremely irritating style; I shall avoid all other titles read by the same.

This is the hand book for businessmen and how corporate tactics can be formed for take overs using these formulas. That being said it’s fun to read and see where one can formulate tactics to use in everyday life. As we all know it’s tough out there. Feels like you to war sometimes just to make it through the grocery store.

Excellent rendering of an ancient classic.

Had to speed this up considerably bc the narrator talked excruciatingly slowly and for some reason growled everything. Was a bit hard to follow the content because of the narration so distracting and uncomfortable.

The narrator sounds bored

Great book, but I couldn't stand this narrator. His low pitch growl at the end of every sentence was as distracting as it was irritating.

narrator is not great

This is a classic listen and even though I'm not a military strategist, much of the information and teachings can be adapted to fit most any situation where strategy, forethought and planning are involved, especially in business. The narrator was basically reading the text so there wasn't much to evaluate him on.

The narrator’s voice grated on my ears all the way through. The voice was too dramatic and the tone and emphasis was very distracting.

The book was succinct and very informative. Art of War can also be used in our everyday lives. The ideas presented can probably navigate you through everyday dilemmas and how we deal with others.

I just love this book. I have read it and now I have listened to it. Everyone one listens or read the words, the strategies it's gives you a fresh prospect on handling noxious people and situations in your life. This books has to be read or listened to more than one time. I would recommend it to everyone to read, maybe at every mile stone in your life.

Timeless material but just read too fast. The production could have used a Foreword to set the scene and possibly a postlude essay to talk about the influence of the material through centuries. One listen is not sufficient to take in all of this wisdom.

The smoldering voice ending every sentence is like fingered nails on a chalk board to me. I couldn’t make it but 10 minutes.

One of the great books of history, such a shame the narration wouldn't even allow me to finish listening.

interesting. some parts were unintentionally funny due to the literal descriptions used. "there is a pass that the enemy knows and they would be able to ambush you there, this is called a contemptuous pass". yeah, no kidding Mr. Tzu haha

It seems like the narrator’s style isn’t for everyone, but I enjoy his tone, pace, and style. I have this downloaded and will sometimes listen to this for a few minutes before falling asleep. I’ll probably branch out to other books read by Michael Scott as well, looks like he’s done quite a few other titles I’d enjoy. The content in The Art of War is sometimes difficult for me to understand - I am a visual learner so I’d prefer to listen whole studying maps of different battles through history for examples of the different types of ground and strategies, to help me to really take in all of the information...and at the end of the day I’m often too tired to go find that kind of documentation, so I usually default to wondering what these situations would look like. The clarity of the reading does help with this though. A great listen overall.
