Lmao why does the narrator sound like he is growling at the end of every sentence?

Profile Avatar Eli S Jul 2017

Great book but this narrator is as annoying and tedious as possible.

Profile Avatar Ace o Feb 2018

I think the book is a great read

Profile Avatar jason s Jul 2017

Solid tactics but like others said bad narrator

Profile Avatar Stormie Choi Dec 2016

It's was hard to actually concentrate on the content of this book because of the narrator. He sounds like he's doing a bad rendition of a movie trailer for each sentence, it's annoying.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Jul 2019

great book , will always be reverent

Profile Avatar Anonymous Jan 2021

I can’t get past the annoying voice of the narrator.

Profile Avatar Vivek G. Aug 2018

Great Book. There are some complaints regarding the narrator being tedious. Its a free audiibook guys, common. But yes, feedback is a good thing. I would suggest you to listen at 1.5x speed.

Profile Avatar Danny Isbell May 2016

great book! I like any book Micheal Scott narrates.

Profile Avatar Gilbert Sanchez Mar 2016

A book I read (or listen too) over and over again. As a military officer and a business professional these metaphors work in so many situations. Highly recommended to all LEADERs, no matter capacity.

Profile Avatar vernon lowpasser Jan 2016

I have read this book several times. I was truly impressed with this presentation and picked up more by listening.

Profile Avatar Sarah Smith Mar 2015

Very insightful book. It can definitely be aligned with business. Will listen again!

Profile Avatar Rosemary Fulgencio Mar 2015

This is a good book I really recommend you guys reading this book

Profile Avatar Anonymous Nov 2021

I’ve listened to every chapter from a different version of this book, which featured three different narrators and occasionally some soft oriental music, all good, but I just couldn’t last more than 3 minutes of this narrators extremely irritating style; I shall avoid all other titles read by the same.

Profile Avatar Morning N. Jun 2021

in fact it is very clear and good

Profile Avatar Horace W. May 2021

it was clear and insighted

Profile Avatar Anonymous Jan 2021

Profile Avatar N0s1 Jan 2021

This is the hand book for businessmen and how corporate tactics can be formed for take overs using these formulas. That being said it’s fun to read and see where one can formulate tactics to use in everyday life. As we all know it’s tough out there. Feels like you to war sometimes just to make it through the grocery store.

Profile Avatar Mackdell L. Jan 2021

Excellent rendering of an ancient classic.

Profile Avatar Anonymous May 2025

Had to speed this up considerably bc the narrator talked excruciatingly slowly and for some reason growled everything. Was a bit hard to follow the content because of the narration so distracting and uncomfortable.

Profile Avatar Kim Sara May 2025

wow what a great story.... my father also like it

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2025

Great book

Profile Avatar Shiv P. Jan 2025

Could not bear the narrator so didn't get far with the book

Profile Avatar Kylie S. Jan 2025

was a interesting read

Profile Avatar Ashton N. Jan 2025

I love this book so much, it shows different perspectives. and even though it is an older book, it can still be applied today for military use or just insight of classical literature. The narrator is very good, voice is smooth and makes it easier to listen. Over all, Highly recommended.

Profile Avatar Carol-anne D. Jun 2024

not my reading sorry

Profile Avatar David J. May 2024

Fine to listen to. Some parts interesting. But mostly felt quite outdated to me.

Profile Avatar Darkskinned101 Mar 2024

A very tactical book. Insightful.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2024

kompact and easy to follow

Profile Avatar Nikita O. Jan 2024

Considering this text was written in 5th century BC and how rules outlined in it still apply today, both in military and, more importantly, in everyday competitive situations, nothing less than 5 stars can be given.

Profile Avatar Iiam_saher Nov 2023

I never thought I ll like this book as much as I did

Profile Avatar Anonymous Oct 2023

read really well but if you get a chance to read the actual physical book that's a whole new level of experienxe

Profile Avatar Valeri K. Oct 2023

The narrator sounds bored

Profile Avatar Alex A. Aug 2023

Great book, but I couldn't stand this narrator. His low pitch growl at the end of every sentence was as distracting as it was irritating.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Jun 2023

narrator is not great

Profile Avatar Victor W. May 2023

This is a classic listen and even though I'm not a military strategist, much of the information and teachings can be adapted to fit most any situation where strategy, forethought and planning are involved, especially in business. The narrator was basically reading the text so there wasn't much to evaluate him on.

Profile Avatar Anonymous May 2023

The narrator’s voice grated on my ears all the way through. The voice was too dramatic and the tone and emphasis was very distracting.

Profile Avatar VILMA Y. May 2023

The book was succinct and very informative. Art of War can also be used in our everyday lives. The ideas presented can probably navigate you through everyday dilemmas and how we deal with others.

Profile Avatar Johnny H. Apr 2023

Great job with the narration.

Profile Avatar Getulio Tamid Apr 2023

The narrator reads well but he could be less The Office Michael Scott ! Sounds like I'm watching a movie trailer !

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2023

I just love this book. I have read it and now I have listened to it. Everyone one listens or read the words, the strategies it's gives you a fresh prospect on handling noxious people and situations in your life. This books has to be read or listened to more than one time. I would recommend it to everyone to read, maybe at every mile stone in your life.

Profile Avatar Chino Flores Mar 2023

Excelent narration

Profile Avatar Anonymous Mar 2023

Team zanny

Profile Avatar Anonymous Feb 2023

A must read for all. The lessons written in this book in my view can be applied not in a military sense, but can be applied to every day life.

Profile Avatar AnonymousKAGrentz Feb 2023

Easy Listening

Profile Avatar Kesha Jan 2023

I always read this book but this darn narrator made me wanna stick a pencil in my ear!!!

Profile Avatar Anonymous Nov 2022

Cattrall is a superb narrator.

Profile Avatar Johan S. Oct 2022

Fantastic classic

Profile Avatar Anonymous Oct 2022

Great read

Profile Avatar Philip A. Sep 2022

Timeless material but just read too fast. The production could have used a Foreword to set the scene and possibly a postlude essay to talk about the influence of the material through centuries. One listen is not sufficient to take in all of this wisdom.

Profile Avatar Anonymous Aug 2022

The smoldering voice ending every sentence is like fingered nails on a chalk board to me. I couldn’t make it but 10 minutes.

Profile Avatar Bradley B. May 2022

One of the great books of history, such a shame the narration wouldn't even allow me to finish listening.

Profile Avatar Chris S. Mar 2022

interesting. some parts were unintentionally funny due to the literal descriptions used. "there is a pass that the enemy knows and they would be able to ambush you there, this is called a contemptuous pass". yeah, no kidding Mr. Tzu haha

Profile Avatar Chris Dezell Feb 2022

I feel that I listened to a 90s action movie trailer for over an hour because of the narrator.

Profile Avatar Ray S. Jan 2022

Interesting and educational

Profile Avatar Anonymous Dec 2021

Great book, great narrator.

Profile Avatar Traci Nycole Nov 2021

Profile Avatar Anonymous Oct 2020

This book was really relaxing and nice to listen to.

Profile Avatar Abarat H. Oct 2020

It is a good book l encourage to read it

Profile Avatar Anonymous Oct 2020

It seems like the narrator’s style isn’t for everyone, but I enjoy his tone, pace, and style. I have this downloaded and will sometimes listen to this for a few minutes before falling asleep. I’ll probably branch out to other books read by Michael Scott as well, looks like he’s done quite a few other titles I’d enjoy. The content in The Art of War is sometimes difficult for me to understand - I am a visual learner so I’d prefer to listen whole studying maps of different battles through history for examples of the different types of ground and strategies, to help me to really take in all of the information...and at the end of the day I’m often too tired to go find that kind of documentation, so I usually default to wondering what these situations would look like. The clarity of the reading does help with this though. A great listen overall.

Profile Avatar Charles P. Aug 2020

Very interesting.

Profile Avatar Cynthia L. Aug 2020

This is a classic for a reason. So much wisdom in this writing. Will need to listen again, and again.

Profile Avatar Lonell G. Jun 2018

Profile Avatar James R. May 2018

Complex and insightful, especially considering when it was written. Takes intense concentration to understand meaning. Narration was a little intense.

Profile Avatar Russell M May 2018

Well narrated. Classic wisdom.

Profile Avatar Richard M Feb 2018

this can translate into everything in life.

Profile Avatar Aravind C Feb 2018

The narrator sounds like the usual voice from trailers to adventure movies. Really annoying and hard to understand.

Profile Avatar Micky N Jan 2018

cant take the narrator serious....

Profile Avatar Ighodaro Odighizuwa Oct 2016

I cannot stand the way this guy is reading this book!! And because of that I could not even finish the first chapter.

Profile Avatar Erika Goss Mar 2016

Very insightful book. Narrator was too monotone for my liking.

Profile Avatar Kevin Luminella Dec 2015

A well crafted & uniquely useful resource indeed! Risk and reward!

Profile Avatar Unknown Unknown Nov 2015

Very useful and interesting book. One I will revisit multiple times.

Profile Avatar Adrian Davis Jan 2015

annoying reader's voice . Seems he's being over dramatic

Profile Avatar Adam Teckman Dec 2014

The narrator speaks in an over-the-top bad movie trailer voice. Its really annoying. However, it is a great book!

Profile Avatar John Klicka Oct 2014

Man, the narrator just gets on your nerves. Good book though!
