Unabridged Audiobook
Love the series.

I have read many of these books. It was a series that invited me into the small town of Lake Eden and lives of Swenson sisters, especially Hannah. Currently, Hannah is back from honeymooning with Ross - her college sweetheart. But before Hannah’s return, Delores, Hannah’s mother, makes a grisly discovery — the murdered body of Victoria Bascomb. This discovery sets Hannah on the trail of another murderer. In addition to her sleuthing, Hannah is attempting to married life. I like all of the relationships in the town of Lake Eden. Lake is this cozy little town where everyone knows each other and cares for each. This is exemplified in the Swenson family. I also like that it has a dose of reality thrown into the plot. Hannah realizes that marriage is an adjustment. She will need to change her behaviours and schedules to include another person in her life. She also has an epiphany that she doesn’t know as much about Ross as she used to back in their college days. The parts I didn’t like about the book is a character was introduced towards the end of the book that seemed to be thrown in just as a plausible suspect. In fact, this character seemed to be created to be the murderer. It happened in a previous book and it was disappointing. Also, it seems the characters are selling the recipes rather than sharing them with each other. Overall, I rate this book as 3.5 to 4 stars of 5 stars. I love the familiar rhythm of this book in the Hannah Swenson murder mystery. Most of the characters are there with the distinctive ways of relating with each other. There are new recipes to try in the kitchen. I always fantasize that I will starting baking them, even though I don’t even cook. During covid19 these books have been real lifesavers. Lake eden is a place I would like to visit as long as there couldn’t be a possibility of being murdered. P. S.: I tried to my cat that he should be leaping in my arms. His response was less than satisfactory.
