Unabridged Audiobook
I read this book many moon ago and this is my first audiobook from start to finish. The book itself is a sincere depiction of a young woman as her mind unravels. Esther Greenwood tries to make sense of herself and the world around her. The subject is timeless, yet the book has a strong sense of time and place. Maggie Gyllenhaal's narration is phenomenal. She gives an authentic voice to Esther. She injects feeling and heighten the emotional connection between the reader/listener and the narrator/author.
Sad, mesmerizing, sad.
Fantastic work, and Maggie's narration adds so much to the experience.
This was my first audio book from start to end, and it was phenomenal. Maggie does a terrific job narrating and the writing is incredibly poignant. Very sad subject matter, but the way in which she describes some of the emotions the character experiences is very relatable.
Great book and I love that Maggie read this!! I had to read this for my class and was dreading it but it was actually really good! Lots of thought provoking content. Makes you think!
Classic book. Maggie Gs narration makes the book even more enjoyable.
I really enjoyed the book. Sometimes I would start stop paying attention due to my own thoughts and it didn't keep my attention. The narrator did a great job expressing the emotions and talked very clearly. Would listen to her again
Maggies voice is beautiful and wonderful for this story.
I couldn't stop listening! Very depressing, but beautifully written and narrated.
