Unabridged Audiobook
A great listen.
Disappointing and Uninspired I recently listened to an audiobook that I found extremely disappointing. The content consisted of a man’s memories from his childhood, where he described feeling abused. However, the narration was so robotic that it made the entire experience difficult to endure. The narrator’s odd sentence breaks, lack of proper pauses, and monotone delivery stripped away any potential emotion, leaving the performance dry and emotionless. The book itself was repetitive, with the author making the same point at least four times despite the entire audiobook being only 43 minutes long. The stories were devoid of the detail necessary to evoke any sort of emotional response, and it felt like the writer was uncertain about what should or shouldn’t be considered abuse. This ambiguity further detracted from the overall message. Given the lackluster narration and the repetitive, uninspired content, I would give this audiobook 0 out of 5 stars if the platform allowed. The single star I’ve awarded was not truly earned. I would not recommend this audiobook to anyone looking for an engaging or thoughtful listening experience.
