Unabridged Audiobook
I found this book in the series a bit difficult to follow but the concept of how blood transfusions were initially tested was interesting. To think children may have been abused in this way is extremely disturbing.
This book in the Monk series really felt like its own vibe to me; it meanders and curves like a river with plots that aren’t always in alignment with the primary story and there’s really not much to solve; just much to prove and a very, very icky but realistic glimpse at the abuse of human medical “lab rats” in experimental treatments before legal protections were in place. I liked this story because it left me feeling unsettled. The main characters were very true to their inner selves as painted by Perry’s many books. Some great and dramatic police action as well. Kept me wondering how it would all turn out!!
