I really enjoyed this book. Mary Roberts Rinehart was a brilliant auther,, Sometimes the narrator can spoil a good book,but the gentleman reading this one,wasnt too bad,

I enjoyed the story. Narrator was only okay.

Ye gads! What a great story! True, it’s long and full of bygone moments and morals, but it’s a brilliant reminder of who and what we once were. One has to wonder if progress has really progressed us or not.

Firstly, the narration is excellent. There are so many books I can’t listen to because the reading is poor. Not in this case. However this story with its outdated attitudes to war upset me on quite a few levels. The story outline is brilliant but it is very much a product of its time.

Not in my normal reads but I found this to be a great story line and excellent read. Thoroughly enjoyed this one.
