Good program. The volume on the book I have listened to quite low, and make it difficult it would be on sunset the speakers.

This is possibly the weakest entry in the Jack Ryan series I've read so far, and I've gone from Patriot Games up through Executive Orders so far. That being said, it's still a Jack Ryan novel and it's still a very interesting read and I did enjoy it plenty. It is also crucial to setting up the next book so don't skip it. I mean really, the weakest Clancy novel is still, as far as I'm concerned, excellent. It's just not quite as excellent as the novels that precede it. I did not enjoy the narrator. Mostly the issues seemed to come from maybe having the microphone too close to his face? I kept hearing the sound of his lips parting and his tongue clicking, as if he were right next to me speaking directly into my ear. kind of disconcerting really. but it wasn't so bad as to make me stop listening. So, in summary, do get the book and listen to it. if you like the Jack Ryan titles you'll like this one too.

Nuclear blackmail, economic chaos, government corruption, and military action are all blended in typical Tom Clancy style. This is one of Clancy's best. And Jack Ryan again plays a major role. I think anyone listening to this will appreciate how Clancy adds insights into how many aspects of the world really work. Narrator is clear and enunciates well. He has a style that may seem slow at first, but allows the listener to stay with the story. I enjoyed this book.
