Unabridged Audiobook
Glitches ruined the experience for me.
Yep the glitches were a problem. The story was great a little too much character development. The main reader was a little annoying in how he over pronounced and stretched things out. I appreciate the clarity though.
I actually loved the book, but the glitches in the audio quality were incredibly bad in many places throughout the book--lots of skipping and missing content!
And I continue being pulled through these incredible books.
The book truely deserves 5 stars. However, the quality of the book here on audiobooks.com is terrible! At the end of chapter 8 the book cuts to chapter abruptly at the end of a sentence. Being suspicious I went and found a physical copy to find that it had skipped 3 pages from the book. If you're listening to this book chances are you've read/listened to many of cards books. As you may know he loves to stick cliff hangers at the very end of chapters so 3 pages missing from the end of a chapter can be a huge deal. I was okay with it happening for the most part until it happened again and again. Other than technical issues this book is fantastic and I highly recommend!
Excellent book and excellent narration. However, the audio quality has fairly frequent glitches and failures. Several chapters are missing the last minute or so. The book is still understandable, but leaves you to fill in the blanks occasionally. Worth listening to, but be warned that it gets frustrating.
The story itself is excellent and the narrators are convincing. The recording quality is low. If you remember vinyl records and how they would sometimes stick in a grove? Or how CDs would do something similar in a track and repeat and hyperspeed and the only way around the skipping wpuld be to just skip the track? That's this recording. It wasnt so severe that the story was unintelligible as a whole, but it was very annoying because it happened a lot. Same occured throughout the trilogy of pre-Ender books. Rating narration a 2 because of this factor.
Exceptional writing and VO talent. Loved the series.
