Unabridged Audiobook
Gave me faith and hope from week one. Was skeptical and desperate when I read this book. Her Podcast was huge help too
Some of what is said in this book had me raising my eyebrows many times. I don't think the abuse toward marriage counsellors is fair firstly, as therapy can be a very valuable tool for some people and there is a reason the profession exists. There are also a lot of crazy blanket statements in this book with no actual evidence to back them up. While there is good advice in some parts of this, the rest of it seems like a really peppy brainwashing seminar on how to convince unhappy wives that their failing marriages are their fault and their responsibility to fix by shouldering all of the "change" that needs to happen. Hell no. People change and grow over the years and there is nothing "embarrassing" about divorce when you have a partner who is unwilling to try or listen. The length of this book is also unnecessary. So much of it is self-promotion and slander toward marriage counsellors and she sounds like a clickbait ad. "BUT WAIT IT GETS BETTER" and she sounds really insincere. Personally I find her manner of speaking and voice very grating so perhaps this contributed to my dislike of the book.
