Unabridged Audiobook
I was shocked by this book. Without doubt Mr Taunton is a good writer. But, what he produced here is to my feeling pure arrogance and maybe even morbid self appreciation wrapped in sophisticated language. Even the word “scandalous” pops up in my mind. If you look deeply into this narrative it is nothing more than a simple “us - them”, “we are right and they are wrong” - position of a Christian disciple who proudly tries to explain to us that he nearly got one of the worlds leading atheists over the line of conversion during his battle against a fatal disease. Pure betrayal, that is how I perceive this. Really shocking. Christopher did certainly not deserve this. It was certainly interesting to “read” this book, but I prefer it would never have existed, or would never had been created. It simply is not OK…
Beautiful story of respect, grace and friendship between two seemingly different humans. We’re all more alike than our differences.
Loved the book. Thoughtful, engaging and honest. I found myself rooting for CH to be saved, not as a "trophy" but for the reasons a believer should want any human to be redeemed. Sadly, besides a vague possibility that Christopher could have privately? sought out God, there is no reason to believe he actually did.
This was a great read and was very compelling. I was not expecting to be drawn in the way that I was.
